So Viking who won the Norwegian cup yet went out the europa league to Aberdeen are a bigger challenge than molde who just went through to the last 16 beating hoffenheim
This and the champions league may have become bloated for money but the knockout stages
Are exactly the same amount of games it took to win the cup winners cup
With better teams right through

It's 2021.
We won the Cup Winners Cup in the 1994 season.

The disparity between the top and bottom clubs and the leagues is far far different.
Viking, Aberdeen, Molde and Hoffenheim are the four clubs you mentioned - says it all.

Don’t be silly mate
There are loads of examples over the 26 years
Nobody would bother reading them
I do not have your debating skills and I say that with no side I mean it genuinely
I am just a bloke who wants Arsenal to win
I love lifting trophies of any bona fide kind
The cup winners cup was one such thing as is the europa league
I don’t see why it should only get kudos at the semi final stage as it’s been as easy or hard to win as any secondary European competition once it reaches the knockout stages
That’s all I got

Like I said - I don't begrudge you your all in support of the current team.
I loved the 94 win also - but I just think that tournament and football in general 26 years ago was a different affair.
I have little respect for footballers and football authorities in modern times - they sold the game out for riches and created a disparity that any club but the elite clubs will never recover from - unless they get a sugar daddy owner - or unless, as I hope, there is a massive crash in football finances and all the money dries up destroying the game and forcing it to rebuild.

MOTM today. Quietly regaining form even in this setup where attacking football goes to die.

He had a very good first half.
He had a very poor second half.
Again - either attitude or legs - but doesn't seem able to maintain his level.

Goal return this season remains a major disappointment.

It's his position! Needs to start on the left with laca in the middle

White/Tomiyasu--Saliba/Timber--Gabriel/Kiwior--???/Zinchenko

Latest run means he has to stay in the middle and have the freedom to go wide.

Starting on the left, he's limited in his play.

NGL thought he was poor after 30 mins. Typical goal he's known for and it was a good goal despite the keeper error but after that didn't do much for the rest of the game, few good runs in the first 30.

Not enough that's for sure, just pissing me off how much he goes ghosting. This is like Podolski MK II just with a few more goals and pace.

Disappointed with him overall since the deal, for the price we are paying I expect him to make goals from nothing more regularly.

Problem is Laca's not doing much at CF.

I think Auba and Pepe in a front two LF & RF would be perfect.

Why do we even need a CF? because we hog so much possession with a slow transition, teams always have time to get back in position which fks up the chances for a CF.

Thing is, when laca doesn't play there is nobody to hold the ball up and we end up playing it sideways/backwards.

Problem is we have no cover up front so one of auba and laca has to play evrry game meaning they can't be used together very often. They are rotating with each other.

Absurd.
Beyond scoring, he is of little value to the team.
His actual value this year in the PL is 9 goals.
That is the same as Laca, who has played far less minutes.

This year he is far away from being our best player.

His season remains shockingly poor - and he'll have to have an amazing last 10 games or so to call it anything else when the whistle blows to end our last game of the season.
