In the lead up to the Aston villa fa cup final
Sanchez was among a group of players that were shown a dvd of arsenal's rich history in the competition
Including Charlie George's 71 double winning strike v Liverpool
It's only Ray parlour at the millennium v Chelsea
Aaron Ramsey's injury time winner v hull

I can't imagine anyone not knowing Parlour. I was 8 years old and in the stands and I knew Parlour when he hit that goal against Chelsea.

Iirc, Lauren had a chance to score early enough in the game. Was sure he'd score.

Then Parlour hit that goal. What strikes is me that I don't even remember people shouting "Shoot" like they usually do (But then I was 8, and iirc, very hungry). Didn't expect that to go in but what a hit.

One of my best live memories

You are assuming he was watching or paying attention or even cared to.

He seems ike the kind that lives in his own footballing world.

Does not even interact that much with his Arsenal teammates outside of football.

I also get reminded of the time he and Bravo were talking to each other in the tunnel before an Arsenal and Man City match and Bravo had Gundogan jersey number and Alexis asks im "Who is 8?" Bravo said "Gundogan" and Alexis was like "Who is that? Some youth player?" :rofll:

Haha yup.

Just posted about this above.

If I was a betting man, I would bet he doesn't know or cares for Ray.

Doubt he cares too much about who played for this club years ago.

That's just his personality.

I didn't know who gundogan was until we played them.

Sanchez will have a gd idea considering parlour hangs around the club doing things so I'm sure they will have explained about it at the start. Not like it matters anyway

If the guy wants to go we should just let him, its not his fault if he wants to win trophies.

If, and that's still by no means certain, but If Mbappe is now off the market, then City, RM and PSG all still need a BIG name striker signing .... maybe we can squeeze a few more million out of them for Sanchez ...

The problem now is that we don't have an obvious replacement ... we could be the ones left short of strikers ... AGAIN

It's amazing. When we sold Van Persie the anti-Wenger crowd tore into him for not forcing RVP to see out his contract. Now that he seems to have adopted that stance with Sanchez, the same folks are shitting their pants and saying sell before he leaves on a free. Sanchez must be forced to stay. There is no 50-60 mil replacement out there for him. We should keep Sanchez and strengthen other areas like CM this season and then when he leaves on a free next season blow our entire transfer budget on a top quality forward.
Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.

Anybody can make a mistake, it's not good having a player who wants to be elsewhere though is it?

It's not ideal, but it's still preferable to selling him and being unable to replace him with a player of his calibre.

If we sell Alexis, we'd need to buy a winger AND a CM. If we keep him, a CM would do, or in Wenger's world, a pack up.

It's an easy choice for Arsene.

At least it shows that Wenger and the board realise the fans won't put up with any old shit being bought to replace Alexis.
