As feared, decision to keep him has back fired. We are out of Top 4 race and out of all worthy competitions except Europa.

We were playing with fire and it caught us now.

"If" we get Malcom and PEA as a result then it has not backfired, its been a massive benefit.

We were making fk up bids in summer as Wenger was still firmly in charge, now others are doing our transfer business means now is the perfect time to be looking at these players.

............ i.e we might actually get them.

Typical Arsenal underrating.

Notice that van Persie is rarely in contention when it comes to best strikers in Prem history, or how Cesc is so underrated in favor of Lamps and Gerrard? Nobody talks about Gilberto, Ljungberg, or England's own Sol either.

You say this, but a key part of Sanchez's decision to go to United is because he's unsure he'd start at City......

Cesc has had title winning seasons at Chelsea. Still not rated, because he doesn't fit the English mould of what a midfielder is.
RVP had two great seasons and not much else

Let's face it; we will probably sign neither of those two players. Every club knows we're desperate to get signings over the line, which means they can milk us for more money - and we don't have money to begin with.

We are a profit making club, hence we sell players on, everyone says we are sitting on money, but it's fairly clear that the manager does not have this money to spend.

Wenger always get linked with Read Madrid, a club who like to spend huge fees on players - if Wenger doesn't want to spend Arsenal cash, why would he spend Real Madrid's, that's a club who sack managers for winning the league.

In short terms, we don't have a board that have the desire to win trophies as a priority, whether it's for love or just wanting to win.

I did think that too about the so called monies.Where is these monies we have. Is so called reserved money just getting taken out some kind of way, Kroenke does'nt own the club so how can he just take profit without others knowing,

But we know wenger likes mimimum risk. And would be scared to put big money down and fail. We'll never know where the monies are :dontknow:

Not 100% convinced by Sanchez, eh?

City don't "need" Alexis to win the Prem. They have a plethora of talent. They want him for the CL.

On individual talent alone, Alexis is as good as any City player. That doesn't mean Pep would want to upset the rhythm at City. It's not just about who's better individually.

Plus, City don't want to make Alexis their highest paid player, which ManU have no qualms in doing. Think about it: if City make Alexis their highest paid player, how would it go down with Aguero, KdB, Silva, etc.? It's not worth the risk - and we are also aware of Pep's usual transfer games. He wants Sanchez to stay at Arsenal until the summer so that City could get him for free. Alexis doesn't want to stay a single day more.

A lot of factors.

Definitely not arguing on that, was arguing on why our players aren't so highly rated. You just named 4 City players as good as Sanchez right now. Arguably at their current level, Sane and Sterling are about the same level too. This is why our players aren't highly rated. Our two best players wouldn't start for City. That says it all for where we are right now. And the sad thing is that Ozil and Sanchez are demonstrably head and shoulders above anyone in our squad

Alexis is Aguero's replacement btw, so if anybody misses out when City sign Alexis, it would be Aguero. The news of Jesus' early return also played a factor in City cooling down their interest. Pep doesn't seem to like Aguero as his #9.

If we sign Auba and Malcom and offload Sanchez and Walcott it would have been a good window for us.

If Wenger and Kroenke are still the manager and owner it won't matter who we sign.
