We lose out on money (which we have anyway) but whoever gets him gets maybe half a season before he starts breaking down.
Also agree with your post above this.
Mate, even if we get that money Wenger is the biggest joke in the transfer market, he will not spend it or he will find some bullshit £10 million back up CB and that is it. I don't trust our club together with wenger when it comes to spending.. We might as well keep what we already have (Sanchez) and let him leave on a free at the end of the season.. It's a win win for us fans if sanchez is held to his final year..
Arsenal is a business, so what would be best for the business?
Get 50 or 60m now for an almost 29yo player or keep him even though he does not want to be here?
If he was in fact a mercenary, he would definitely sulk and moan affecting the rest of the team because he did not get his way right?
Then why would you force a mercenary to stay? Just to teach him a lesson and waste money in the process?
Even if he stays, a player wanting to leave will never give 100% while looking for his next club so not much of a "win win for us fans".
Now if we sell Sanchez, do I think Wenger will spend those 50 or 60m to get a replacement or a CB and a DM?
Honestly no, simply because they would prefer to keep the money or spend as little as possible to increase their profits, maybe even compensate for the money they will not get for playing CL this season while we try to get back in it, who knows.
This is a "lose lose for us fans" IMO, we cannot offer what other big clubs have to offer, we only have money and even so we are not willing to spend much of it.
