Judging by the optimism around the club, I can't help thinking we haven't paid attention in the last few years. What's happening now is nothing new, and instead of treating it with suspicion, people are falling for it.

Our best player has left for a bigger club, and that bigger club has given us one of their flops in return. Not only is Mkhitaryan not as talented as Alexis, but he's also not a direct replacement by any means. It's definitely a bad deal for us.

"But we're signing Aubameyang", some will say, "he can replace Alexis!" Are we signing him, though? Haven't we seen numerous transfer sagas like this amount to nothing? There's no guarantee we'll get Aubameyang. None whatsoever. Let's not act as if the deal has been done.

RVP went to Utd last time I checked as is Sanchez, City didn't unsettle Sanchez, Sanchez wanted out and refused to extend his contract, city just said they'll take him on AND were willing to wait until his obligations with AFC were done ......... City or no City, he was gone come summer.
