Yeah, Mkhi should probably go as well.

Question is, is he willing to leave and earn half, if not a third of what he is earning now?

What's certain is that, maybe safe for on or two Chinese clubs, no club is going to be willing to match his £200k/week salary.

Not only are we going to offload three players (Ramsey, Welbeck, Cech, Lichtsteiner) for nothing, but we also have players who are both on high wages and will likely play little (Elneny, Jenkinson). Our wage structure is also top heavy and unbalanced with our four highest earners (Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette, Mkhitaryan) competing for game time with each other.

Sure, there's a ton of dead wood to be trimmed in our squad. There's also a lot of excess in our squad. Our squad has been poorly built which, coupled with our poor financial situation, puts us in an extremely tricky predicament.

This thread def needed upping.

But apparently some of our posters advice is to just get rid of the manager ......... yeah that will solve Mustafi, Xhaka and co from not losing us top 4.

I mean it worked for Wenger right?

Just got home from working all day, just seen the score.

We need a serious rebuild in the summer. So many players need to go. Like i think Neville said will take emery 2 years at least to rebuild this team to former glory, even next season is still transition.

In terms of deadwood and who we can get decent money for to add to the transfer kitty.

Elneny
Ospina
Chambers
Monreal
Xhaka
Iwobi
Kos
Ozil
Mustafi
Kolasinac
Miki

But I could see the likes of Iwobi, Kolasinac, Ozil and Xhaka escaping the chop for another season. I'd cash in on all of them. That should get over 150 million even more.

What we need is a left back, a top class Center Back even two imo, a right back, a Center Midfield/Box to box, winger and back up Striker. I'd even look to the Youth system and starting bringing in the most talented ones we got and start giving them some game time next season.

Have you ever in your life seen a club buy an entire team in one summer?

Have you ever seen a club sack half of its players, whilst keep its underperforming manager in the modern era?

We're reaching delusional levels right now. What is wrong with Arsenal fans ffs.

I feel our collective IQ has dropped significantly since Unai's appointment.

As much as I would like to see a lot of them go, it will not happen in one transfer window.

I would get rid of Mkhitaryan, Monreal, Chambers, Elneny, Xhaka, Mustafi. Iwobi is **** but he might come good, decent backup as well, we do need squad players.

I could see maybe 3 or 4 of them going at most in one window.

We need a right back, left back, centre back, Ramsey replacement, winger, and backup keeper?

people thought it was all wenger ... once gone all would right itself.... our players arent that good. not good enough to counted in the best teams in europe.

coming to terms with what the club really is right now is mental anguish. rationality goes adrift.

Since we know we can’t purge so much of the deadwood in one go, we (or the club at least) should have a list of those who can still be useful and those who serve absolutely no purpose anymore. Imo:

Must go/Already gone:
1. Lichtsteiner
2. Mustafi (Probably harsh but I’ve had enough tbh)
3. Xhaka (see Mustafi)
4. Jenkinson (already have better options)
Gone. Cech
Gone. Welbeck
Gone. Suarez
Gone. Ramsey

Should go, but not urgent:
1. Ozil (age + wages)
2. Mkhitaryan (see Ozil)
3. Ospina (Experience GK if no faith in the younger keepers)
4. Monreal (one of the few players who will leave everything on the field despite his age)
5. Chambers (can play DM and CB. Has some use)
6. Elneny (not bad to have around in case of an injury crisis in midfield)
7. Iwobi (age is on his side)
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

But Wenger's legacy makes us different. No other club have had such an entrenched weak mentality as the one instilled by Wenger.

I don't care what anyone says, Emery has improved that this season, slightly. But the only way to remove that weak mentality is to rip out the core of the team.

For me, the key is Koscielny, Mustafi and Ozil. Then see what offers came in for others.

Long term my post above has to be the aim, even if it takes a few seasons. That is why Emery has to be given time. Wenger's weak mentality can't be undone overnight.

We need to buy proper defenders.

Had the opportunity to buy Macguire and Evans but snubbed them. Proper PL defenders.

Had the opportunity to buy van Dijk but decided to spend the £70m on shit.
