Watch Arteta slide him straight back in, to think some people thought we needed him.

Haven't missed him one bit.

tbf we did 'need' him last season since he was our best CM outside of Partey.

But with AMN's improvement and Lokonga coming in, hopefully Xhaka's days are numbered.

To be honest, we haven't see anything special from AMN in midfield thus far, so if you think Xhaka was our best CM last season outside of Partey, AMN on current form - which is his norm in CM to be honest - would have been better than Xhaka comfortably. I don't think we have seen ANY improvement from AMN this season. People forget he is a CM by nature ,its his natural game.

Having 2 mobile CMs makes such a big difference because you don't feel under pressure to have to cover other players, you can play your game safe in the knowledge the other CM can handle his own business.

Its not going to happen.

Same sht with Italian clubs, they're very tight with their money, they'll always be coming up short money wise so I wouldn't expect us to accept it.

Think of it this way as well, Arteta talked Xhaka into staying and with a new contract, he's not going to sell him.

Arsenal and Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka, 29, would be interested in returning to Borussia Monchengladbach when his contract ends in 2024. (Mit Geredet, via Mail)

This guy returns from injury and goes straight into the team and plays the whole match, meanwhile Tierney who was fitter and playing well gets subbed.

Why does this guy always get a free pass, once again the other day his error cost us, should have never played nevermind played 90 minutes. He should have fouled his man and taken the 2nd yellow, wouldn’t have had a second yellow hanging over him of course if his positioning was any good or if he hadn’t got himself booked earlier in the match.

I’ll never understand how this sub standard performer has managed to stay here for so long as a mainstay in the team.

Same reason he just got a new contract.

One of those players who’s not as bad as the haters make him out to be and not as good as his fans think he is, in the right team under the right manager he’d be regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world

In his prime he was not regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, I have no idea what madness has taken you.

Yes, Xhaka is better suited to slower paced football and would look better be elsewhere, like he does when he plays for Switzerland. But lets not go OTT about him being one if the best in the world lol.

Sure. That’s why clubs are offering us silly money to take him.
