No, but every manager has their pet project and as a former Deep Mid its obvious Xhaka is Arteta's, so with all the good other stuff Arteta is bringing this is a case of biting the bullet on this one.

We've wanted Xhaka gone through 3 managers now .......... he's obviously not going anywhere so what's the point of raging about it?

If him telling the fans to fk off didn't get him out of the club then nothing will.

Unbelievable that this mediocre football with a bad attitude has just walked back into the team as if the last 4-5 years have never happened. A handful of hald decent performances, where we have to change the team to accommodate him and mask his limitations a bit doesn't make up for his behaviour or years of poor performances, I guess though that standards are low at Arsenal.

No other top team would have had him anywhere near the 1st team, maybe that's why we are where we are, any decent manager should be able to see his limitations, this guy epitomises mediocrity, if that's what our aim is then he'll fit right in I guess.

News Flash ............ we're not a top team.

We're fkin 10th and have been outside the top 4 for going on 3 years and have been a Europa team.

.......... next season we won't even be in the Europa at this rate.

No sign of a top team here, only in our minds.

Right!

The negative nellies constantly spew out how shit they think we are (and they're right) and how we have fallen and are no longer a top team, but then in the next breath compare us to top teams when using it in their arguments. Make up your mind folks, can't have it both ways.

If that's the case, ticket prices should drop to match those of a midtable team, you don't expect to pay the price of fillet steak for a cheap burger.

If we have any ambitions of getting up there, you can forget about it with players like Xhaka.

Bottom line, we are a top team in decline.

............... its not "If that's the case" IT IS the case!

We could charge 50k per season ticket and half your rent on a burger, that doesn't change the fact that we're 10th!

By your rationale we should be better than Barcelona ........... but we never have been.

Saying "Well if we are mid table we should drop the ticket costs" is by the by, yes we should not be paying more but at the same time we're a London team and the excuse they'll use is "If you want us to get better we need the funds".

Either way, currently, we're not a top team so comparing us to Liverpool is fkin ridiculous, people better start appreciating how far we've fallen from the top 2.......... they are the Arsenal & Man Utd of the Fergie / Wenger era, and we're well aware how far off we are from our former Invincibles.

We should 100% compare ourselves to the best, it’s the only way to see how far we’ve fallen and how far we have to go.

In that sense yes. You have to know what the top teams are doing in order to try to replicate it. But when you can't spend like a top team, then you have to find other ways to get back to the top, so in another sense you can't compare yourself to them because we can't do everything they can do at this point.

Yeah but Liverpool and Spurs, for example, don't spend more than us so you can't say we can't spend like a top team

Yea I can. Cause it's obvious we can't spend when we want. And Spurs aren't a top team. I don't care if they made to the final, that was a fluke and now you can see they are getting put back in their place.

City spent nearly 300 mil more than us. That's bananas. They can afford to fix their problems with money, we don't seem to be able to. Which is the point. Pool are only 50 mil behind us in spending, that's only about a players worth of money, so they aren't far behind, but they are the exception to the rule right now, because they did it right. Which we can do, but we have been getting it wrong. But the point is, that we can't just fix our issues with money, we have to try to replicate what Pool did, and buy the right players at the right time. We're 5th on the list, so we can say we're top, but to me 5th isn't top, especially when we're nearly 300 mil behind the top team. We aren't even close.

A top Club, with a mediocre team, is how I’d say we are. The question is, how long can we stay a top club if we dont have a top team!
