I don't care as long as he disappears, it means a space for a new no1 choice.

He's like Giroud, as long as he's here and managers keep fawning over him we'll never improve.

15 mil + 100k/wk( saved/spent on more productive purposes, hopefully ), and less needlessly dropped pts. Not too bad, isn't it?

Mhikytaryan is killing it there, Xhaka will do very well, particularly under a manager like Mourinho.

He's used a similar type of holding midfielder at every club he's been at. It was Matic at Chelsea and Utd, then Hojberg at Tottenham. Not world class players but they work in a Mourinho system.

This. The pace of the Italian league will suit him better

Getting the wages down is vital IMO.

We're paying 50 million a year for just these 5 players:

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Alexandre Lacazette
Hector Bellerin
Bernd Leno

Xhaka is on 100k a week - we are looking at Neves who is on >50k but wants 100k ... not at all sure that's a step up, we will probably get less for Xhaka (2 years on his contract) then we will have to pay for Neves (3 years on his contract) are we sure?

As long as Neves is much better than Xkh, have no problem paying him 120k/wk even.

Sources in Italy have reported that Roma have agreed a €18m fee + performance-related bonuses for him.

Unsure how reliable those sources are.

He cost us £35m, I’m pretty sure he has improved since he joined us. Should be £25m minimum

We overpaid. He's not a good player.

Yup.
He and Mustafi cost nearly 80m together.

When we signed him, the Guardian reported that we agreed a £25m fee excluding bonuses.

Five years of clownery later, £15.5m + bonuses is a good figure.

My only issue is, if Neves is his replacement, we still haven't signed a CAM or a creative CM, and we're basically looking for a like-for-like replacement. The horseshoe formation won't go away, and we will lack in creativity again.

While Ødegaard is great technically, he doesn't possess the vision nor the world class skills of Ozil or Cesc.

Still early days in the transfer window. Yet, our top targets—Neves and Ødegaard—doesn't inspire me with hope or faith.

For the life in me, I can't imagine a man who played under Wenger and worked with Pep being so allergic to flair players.
