Cesc was like a CAM that dropped deep to get the ball from the back, which made him a CM with CAM qualities.

Which again makes Alonso the only DLP for a big team, and we can all agree Xhaka's nowhere near that level

He started of as a Cm, that played deep but had legs to join the attack, in the begining days he was here we still played a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 most the time as that's what Wenger was accustomed to from the 90's when most teams played that way and we always had 2-3 quality strikers to do it.

When adebayor left thats when we changed permanently to the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3, I think it maybe partly as Wenger saw the success of of Barcelona the previous year and that it would release cesc from less defensive duties.

Miss Cesc, Arshavin and RVP.

For some reason, never really liked Nasri :rofll:

Nasri was great though. We haven't had a better offensive midfielder/ winger since he left.

................ right and funnily enough this is what I believe in Emery's system Ozil needs to do when played centrally.

Na you want ozil to get it in dangerous areas high up the field, hopefully with torriera in the team we can do that, also bellerin can drive forward on his side

It's tough to even put them in the same sentence.

He needs to come back to at least be there for an option as an outlet for Guendouzi, Tor, or Xhaka, whoever is playing that role that day I guess.

Nope.

Did you even watch the Cardiff game? when Ozil was advanced like he was in the 1st half he barely touched the ball, he was forced to come deep to get the ball when he went central 2nd half then he passes it forward to the attackers and goes forward himself.

If he hangs in the CAM position he'll barely get a touch because in the team its either carried forward and crossed by the Fullbacks or the deeper mids ping it over the top to the strikers.

............ leaving Ozil with his d*ck in the wind.
