I'm still a fan and always have been. He really does remind me of Vinnie Jones.

Chaps, we played Sheffield United, they are rubbish, me or Phil could've looked decent at LB against them, we are already in line to play LB against Slavia Prague in the return leg.

I don't see a reason for Xhaka to start in this team, ok he filled in at LB but would anyone be ok with seeing him there against any form of competent football team ? Hell no, he would get roast for dinner !

Didn't even notice him which means he's didn't f**k up which arguably means his best game ever.

Has he found his place as a left side defender?

Yep.

Better this season and unfortunately is one of the most ‘leader’ types we have but let’s not forget all his f**k ups because he played two shit teams at left back and did alright.

Not good enough at the end of the day and still waiting for his apology for the palace game.

This Xhaka at left thing has to stop it’s pointless, theirs virtually no attacking threat as he’s to slow so Arteta instructs him to sit back instead of getting forward overlapping, it’s too much for whoever is playing LW to essentially attack on their own

If we want to win the Europa league and get champions league our best bet is to play Saka at left back, it’ll only be for 3 games maximum we have plenty of attackers and Pepe is playing his best football atm so he can cover on the right for those games, he’s no Santi Cazorla but we need Xhaka in his best position for those games alongside Partey.

Yeah no. Saka is essential to our attack. Play Cedric there, or even Lopez. Xhaka to the bench, Partey works best as alone pivot when he doesn't have to do any babysitting.

Athletic always play with a two man midfield, then Partey has played for us always in a double pivot, so what exactly are you basing this on?

See what I mean that penalty was a result of Xhaka getting caught out of position at LB, then Gabriel is forced into covering a making a mistake, if that KT/Shaka/Cedric they’d have the pace to recover

agree but feel Gabriel got screwed by VAR. that was a clear dive. but your point remains true. the xhaka at left back experiment has run its course.
cheers!
