He had a poor first half but was much improved in the second. Lots of progressive balls forward and he was the only one who was able to get the ball in behind the West Ham defence until Ceballos broke through and laid up Nketiah for the winner.

yeah was tragic first half but as the video shows we shouldve done a lot better with his diagonals and penetrative passing over the top which was basically perfect the entire second half

Needs to be replaced ASAP, I really hope we get 2 midfielders in (I know that’s very unlikely) so we don’t have to see him in the team anymore and can move him on!

He's not good enough if we want to challenge for top four.

Fk know's why but the managers including Arteta love his arse so we have to live with it.

i can see him being a stand out performer in training with little one-two's here and there, spraying passes around without any pressure, completely bossing it.

but in real game scenarios he's a liability. just like mustafi he'll let you down at crucial moments. the problem is he's turned into a key cog in our system as the poster above said. our stats look much better with him than without him.

Yeah meaningless passing numbers.

Xhaka and players like him are literally the worst thing that happened to this game. Central mids that literally aren't good at anything, but 5 yard passes, and even that's spotty with Xhaka.

Not anywhere close to being the level we need, but probably one of the best midfielders we have in the active squad.

Anyone find it strange that he doesn’t take penalties? Consider he’s good at Freekicks and corners and he’s a senior player you’d think he’d at least be taking ahead of Elneny and Willock.

Edit: Just found this on you tube it all makes sense now, probably the worst penalty I’ve ever seen lol

With Gabriel, Mari and Tierney as left center and full backs, Xhaka and Saka as left midfielders along with Aubamayang and Martinelli as left wing forwards, the left side of the team all of a sudden looks quite formidable and beyond just functional.

We have a number of phenomenal and/ or experienced penalty takers—Auba, Pepe, Laca, Willian, AMN. Weirdly stacked in that area.

It’s far from formidable, the midfield is very poor, also a few of those are injured for a while.

Don’t forget Cedric, Bellerin and Nelson, but yeah we have a lot of good options depending on who’s on the pitch at the time I just thought that it’s weird that Elneny and Willock are ahead of Xhaka in terms of pens.

I truly hate him as a player, biggest con job ever.

I swear he has to be a good practice/analytics player. Cause how he plays so much, makes no sense to anyone not on the Arsenal coaching staff.
