Even Elneny can look good beside Partey.

Tbf I don't want to be too harsh because Xhaka was half decent against Spurs but yes, Lokonga has his chance.

Partey is the real prize though, when he's fit and raring on all cylinders I'm not sure who else I'd want as a CM enforcer? Bissouma is the only person that comes close to mind.

Also Kante but he doesn't have the presence Partey does.

Yeah Partey is very good, was very good at Atletico a top side too.

Let’s face it he was 2nd prize for Arteta, he was after Aouar all summer then when he realised what we all already knew he got lucky that Partey had a release clause that we could afford and it saved his blushes.

Ironically then when Aouar was available cut price he has no interest in him which was incredibly odd (like a lot of what Arteta does is) it’s like he’s only interested if players like that cost money!

Typical, just when he actually had a decent game.

"Granit Xhaka is the main man in the entire Arsenal midfield, you can’t see it unless I lend you one of my eyes. Without him, Arsenal is lost."

- Jose Mourinho

Let's hope he was wrong and we can cope without him. It will be hard.

If he were a key factor, we wouldn't have suffered for so long. He has had odd good games but been a liability for too many.
His mindless fouls , tackles, miss passes have haunted us for too long.
Not to speak about his sluggishness.

On a personal level of course thats not nice, but on a club level, whatever keeps him out of the team is great news.

It's quite revealing of some people's personality and character traits who can rejoice in celebration, even a mock one, at one of our players being seriously injured to the point of being out for 3 months, just because they don't wish for said player to remain at the club any longer.

Any act of reasoned justification on the basis of Xhaka's own prior misdemeanors regards mutual respect for the club and fans, simply loses the argument on the point of hypocrisy.
