Let's hope he was wrong and we can cope without him. It will be hard.

Not looking promising after two games.

1st game: Midfield completely destroyed and outfought by Brighton.
2nd game: Partey and Lokonga can't handle the added responsibility and give away the ball for the 2 goals Crystal Palace scored.

That's 2 errors leading to goals in 1 game without him. But "Xhaka bad" because he got 1 red card and 2 errors leading to goals in PL since Arteta took over.

Still undefeated without Xhaka this season :shhh:
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Arteta needs to find a solution that gets the best out of ESR and Odegaard, for me we dont create enough good chances, I would much prefer we break quickly and release Odegaard to play defence-splitting passes rather than having to lay the ball off or play an eye of the needle pass through 7 players. I would rather see ESR released on one of his buccaneering runs forward to then pass to someone to finish off the move. I just don't feel the system we are playing gets the best out of our players. Saka is looking off, Pepe can do far more, we just don't create enough good chances.

The main problem is the fact that we are too predictable, Arteta needs to allow players to express themselves more, like Wenger used to you’d see people like Alex song on the LW during the game lol, don’t get me wrong defensively it left us vulnerable to counter attacks but the attacking playing was exciting and unpredictable

Xhaka is exactly the same as players like Ibrahimovic and Sagna rarely ever injured and a faster recovery time than normal

Well there goes our winning run.

Watch Arteta slide him straight back in, to think some people thought we needed him.

Haven't missed him one bit.

tbf we did 'need' him last season since he was our best CM outside of Partey.

But with AMN's improvement and Lokonga coming in, hopefully Xhaka's days are numbered.

That may still be the case.

Depending on the injury it can take that long to get from light training to match fitness.

Great news. Need him match fit when Partey and Elneny go to ACON
