plainly spoken- we need an upgrade.

when you can be counted to pass the ball directly to the opposition at the edge of our own 18 yd box every single game... smh

This guy gives me nightmares, we need to ship him out and replace with a box to box, or replace with someone who is better than him at doing the job then place a more attacking/creative midfielder in front of him.

Like Vieira (B2B) and Gilberto (DM), or Fabregas (as a playmaker) and Gilberto (DM), or Vieira (B2B) and Petit (DM) etc.

What we have at the moment in my view is a deep playmaker (Xhaka) who is not very good at defending and is pretty slow even by DM standards because most of what he does is forward thinking, and hes not even great at that, he adds some physicality, but hes also reckless with it and loses the ball way to often, then alongside him Torreira who is a ball winner constantly chasing the ball, who does make Xhaka look better defensively (as he would anyone) but it also makes us flat creatively in a midfield 3.

I have noticed at times also Torreira charging forward and Xhaka is the guy back which is just plain stupid, someone who can attack and defend is much needed.

People need to stop scapegoating him and putting him in the same bracket as Mustafi. One of our more consistent players lately. And i believe he is good enough to be in a top 4/title challenging side.

He would've scored the pen. Give him the armband and be done with it, enough with the 5 captains nonsense.

Hopefully dropped for the rest of time

Although I do agree with not putting him in the same bracket as Mustafi. Xhaka is regarded as one of the worst first team players we've ever had along with Arteta and Welbeck. Mustafi has never been that bad

We haven't finished in the top-4 since Xhaka's been our starting CM. :P

Shown a lot of improvement under Emery but still think we can do better

If Koscielny leaves he’ll be appointed captain though

Once again, Xhaka ruins what was otherwise a solid performance by being a thick t**t.

So many negatives in his game could be solved just by him not being a complete idiot

He isn't a bad player but we need someone a bit more nimble

I'm noticing this trend among Gooners where we slam our world-class players, but fight tooth and nail defending mediocrity.

Best game he's had as in solid for pretty much the entire game, wasn't a liability won some balls and distributed the ball nicely.
