We need to bring Xabi Alonso in as a coach if Xhaka is to have a productive career here.

He is a terrible footballer but not gonna lie, i love his protective behaviour towards his teammates.

I love his attitude. Sticking up for team mates, showing passion (even if he takes it to the extreme sometimes), not complaining about being played out of position or dropped. The ultimate clubman.

Xhaka is our weak link right next to Iwobi imo.

Wtf does he actually do?

He doesn't carry the ball or get everywhere like Guendouzi and he's not a patch on the defensive capability of Torerria.

So how come a guy getting outplayed by a 19 yr old make the grade?

The sooner he's replaced the quicker we'll improve.

Not sure if I've watched shit for too long so i can't recognize it any longer or if he's really improved a lot. Used to be the only player i hated but i really like him now. What PG said.

We'd be out of the competition if he didn't play tonight. 2 assists and a MOTM performance.

Two assists?

One was a home goal, the other two were headers from defenders .......... taking corners is hardly an assist!

Corners count as an assist.

We didn't score from open play and we would have been out if not for Xhaka's assists. He played his part.

Torreira's corners are just as good, that's a dumb argument.

Xhaka is one of the few players that the AFC medical team hasn't managed to destroy. He isn't going anywhere, esp as a number of mids are on their way out this summer.

Excuse me? Did I miss something? Did Torreira get two assists today? Just so we're clear, we're only talking about what happened during the match.

Yes you've missed something.

Corners are not assists from open play, they are no indication of the skill or level of a footballer.

A corner is a kick lobbed in the air to anybody in a box, if you want to count that as an assist then you go girl, yes "technically" it counts but it is not an assist from open play.

More pissed about his antics just before the end of the match

Couldve punched the guy and been sent off and we wouldn't have to see him play for us in Europe for a while

But he did nothing
