That Fabio pubber on Twitter saying it's a salary bump.

Other outlets reporting £150k - £175k a week.

Likely he will be promised the captaincy again if he signs.

Arteta plans to build the team around him.

WOW.

Has to be a joke surely ?

He doesn’t have a clue what makes a decent footballer, alarm bells should be ringing in every Arsenal fans head.

That was always his plan. He wanted to keep Mustafi, remember?

White is Mustafi's replacement and Xhaka, well, you don't go from being the first name on Arteta's team-sheet to being sold. Xhaka was pushing for the move all along.

Yes I do remember, it’s stuff like this along with his performance of course that has worried me all along, he just can’t identify talented players and flawed players, keeping Mustafi was one example, making Xhaka a mainstay is another, then there’s Martinelli and the way he goes out of his way not to play him and the way he’s treated Saliba is more of the same.

These kind of things should have people worried, having a manager who is happy to cast aside hugely talented players but happy to keep those who make errors and cost us points regularly is a very worrying trait.

I can’t back a manager with such a huge flaw, some people like to overlook it and blame the players but I’m sorry when there are so many example something is very wrong with the way the manager thinks.

Let’s not forget the way he cast Martinez aside and refused to allow him to continue in the 1st team despite him doing everything right.

He should have said that you keep your place if you perform, not told Emi Leno is number 1.

Arsenal to offer Xhaka new deal all over diff news sites (The Athletic etc)...

I hope its a transfer strategy, because whilst we got this guy, we will always be stuck in the mud, just like the way he plays.

I don’t see how offering a new contract is a new transfer strategy to be fair, it means we’ll be stuck with him for even longer.

The threats of a new offer mean Roma might lose their target so entice them to bid, Jose is probably to experienced to fall for that shit though.

By miracle he might reject the contract offer to force a deal to Roma, might mean we get less for him but who cares, get him gone and get somebody more suited to the premier league (finally).

I actually feel sorry for him, if he stays he's going to be under so much pressure to perform.

He ain't a bad player as evident in the Euros, he just is the anti-premier league player, to slow, to panicky when pressed, his tackles are reckless and not accurate, hes no good for us and never was.

For the love of God, I hope he rejects the offer.

This has disaster written all over it.

Best case scenario would be Roma quickly make a better bid to stop him signing
second best is he rejects and Roma sign him on the cheap because they know we are stuck with him

Worst scenario is we are serious about keeping him and playing him.

There is no reason for him to sign another deal unless Edu gives him a retirement contract like he did with Willian and PEA. :hiding:
