Welcome to the forum mate.

It's fine to have your opinion. Why do you think Xhaka is our best player?

I've got a lot of mixed emotions about him. For the majority of this season he's been very poor in my opinion but in the last 2 months or so since he's been in a three man midfield he's been one of our best players.

He's been playing in more of his natural position rather than when we was playing with two in midfield he would be playing as a centre midfielder/Box to box. Now I see him playing as a deep lying playmaker making things happen and getting the balls in between the lines. He no longer has to get up and down the pitch like he had to. He just sits in the middle and does what he can do best.

There's something in him. There really is. Maybe our next manager could get it out of him because he could have the whole package. You can see why he is the captain of Switzerland. His calming presence on the pitch is something you very rarely see in footballers these days.

The one thing that bothers me and always will is his lack of mobility. We've seen him struggle on a few occasions when teams press us.

There's plenty to like about Xhaka. I think he's one of the best ball distributors on our team, accurate and intelligent. He's got a good shot with an eye for goal (averaging about 5 goals per season the past few years). He's a leader out on the pitch with a never say never attitude combined with good technical skills. And he's got that backbone which our entire team has been severely lacking for a while now.
all of my posts are my own opinion

Just give him a partner like Kante or Carvalho and he will be fine.

don't like having to adjust a formation for one specific player. if he's good enough, that wouldn't need to happen, but as I see it, xhaka's short comings shouldn't have to add another player to make up for it.
cheers!

He's another one in our midfield that if he gets heavily pressured he bottles it too much. Our midfield is easy to take out of the game if they are defended well and pressured. Need better players in the middle.

true but to pay 35 mil to bring in a supposed rock in the midfield.....then afterward say we need to pair this player with him or this player to make up for his shortcomings is just ridiculous.

completely agree our midfield just isn't good enough and it starts with xhaka
cheers!

You're right, it is ridiculous. Seems like we always have excuses for players, or we get the type that always seem to need some kind of other player with them. I'd say get used to it though, don't look like that will change any time soon.
