Best first half I've seen us play for a long time.

100% agree, performances like that will challenge any side on the planet, with the little bit of luck or rub of the referee that comes from top sides we may be a title challenger before you know it.

We were brilliant today and deserved all 3 points.
We played Man City off the pitch and it required officials to come to their aid to rob us of 3 points.

I should say this is our best performance under Arteta. And as I have said for a long time, performance first, the result will come later.

The Manchester City game gave me hope for the future and all but confirmed my earlier feelings about Arteta. I believed that he can be a good manager but he needed to be given time elsewhere to iron out his flaws. Unfortunately our senior leaders decided that he needed to grow with us and that came with consequences like no European football, atrocious football, and most likely more money than any of us would have liked thrown out the window. Not saying Arteta is now perfect because he’s still making poor decisions like starting Xhaka and, up until recently, starting Auba as the sole ST.

But what’s done is done and we need to look to the future. And, thankfully, a future that easily could have become more bleak now looks bright from my perspective.

Now its confirms we will have a short season with less games we have a bigger chance of getting top 4 than we did with even the mild FA Cup distraction.

For our remaining PL fixtures, the toughest games are: Leicester, Villa, Man U and West Ham.

The remaining 13 are all midtable teams that we absolutely should be taking 3 points from.

Really hope we can get on a bit of a roll again, we've had two solid spells this season where momentum took over and we looked more confident, only to have the streak snapped by a top team.

Our current next 8 fixtures (some of the rearranged games must get squeezed in):

Brentford (H)
Wolves (H)
Watford (A)
Leicester (H)
Villa (A)
Palace (A)
Brighton (H)
Saints (A)

None will be easy but we really have an opportunity there to stick 5-6 wins on the board at least. A team with the right attitude turning up in most of these games should be looking to put minimum 15 points on the board from those games. The first 3 could really set us up nicely if we can take 9 points from that.
