Will there be a St. Totteringham's Day? And is top 2 a poss?

Postby TRA Dial Square » Wed Apr 11, 2012 12:57 pm

Just thought I'd throw this out there... Probably should have waited until after tonight's game to be fair but hey, I'm an optimist.

So first thing's first... We need to win 5 of our next 6, in order for there to be a St. Totteringham's day. With a win tonight and due to the Spuds FA Cup semi-final with Chavski on Sunday, a win against Wigan Monday would see us 8 points clear of them even before their next PL kick-off. I fully believe we'll have a St. Totteringham's day this year as long as we forget the one loss we've had in the past 9 and focus on treating every single game like a cup final.

Now with that being said, on to the next - We currently sit 10 points behind City which I think even if we win tonight, it may stay the same as I don't see, even with their recent "slump", City rolling over for West Brom at home - But if by some miracle it does happen that gap would be closed to 7 points - But again having said that their run in isn't exactly difficult Norwich after tonight, then Wolves... United could be difficult but they're at home and considering the scoreline at OT I'm nervous on that one. Newcastle away will be difficult for them but QPR? Not sure... Although we know teams bound for relegation do not lie down easy in the final game(s).

So considering not even a month ago we were 10 points behind the Spuds and how we've pushed through that, any chance of us possibly pipping City to the runner-up position?

-Discuss.

To which, 2nd I'm assuming? I'd agree that 2nd is a bit of a dream.

I don't think there's much doubt right now that there's a VERY good chance we'll have a St. Totteringham's Day.

To be fair Max... This particular thread was more to the actual Gooners - No offence but I already know your take as a mutual and the only other 'mutual' here is a City fan ;)

Not once did I say I categorically believe we could get 2nd and forgot to add "can we dare to dream?". But that's beside the point ;)

City are in a bit of a death fall... so it's not completely out of the question. Still unlikely. God would I love to overtake them though. It was be great to see Nasri's face.

I never said you did?

They'll have to make a preset for thread titles so I know which threads not to post in.

No. I think we will finish 3rd and nowhere else.
I want Carl Jenkinson back in a Arsenal shirt next season.

I think there is more chance in City winning the League than you finishing second if I'm honest. Anything can happen though.

Who's the Chav fan? :dontknow:

And Nani and "SpudsFan" don't count ;) they very rarely post. I chat with, debate and get on with, Yorky & Max.
