Honestly... Yorky's right.

If you're not a pussy, you can play through this. Just tape it and sack up. I know, I've done it. It hurts like hell, but certainly something that can be dealt with.

That said, if the Almunia that came off the bench last night is the other option... I'm not too worried. :dontknow:

Let's just hope that's the Almunia that shows up on the weekend.

I wonder if Szczesny would of made the saves Almunia did?

Not that I expect keepers to do what Trautmann did, especially as he didn't even know he had a broken back but a dislocated finger? I see keepers getting them strapped up every week and just get on with it.

I was very shocked he even dislocated it yesterday though, there seemed nothing on the shot by the time it reached him and I couldn't even see where it happened whilst picking the ball up.

To me the problem with Al is more the occasional appalling mistake than a complete lack of talent. I think Scszez will be better than him in time, but right now we'll be fine.

Sorry, find it hard to believe anyone can stand up straight/move around let alone act like a GK w/ a "Broken back".

You're right. It was only a broken neck.

No need to be sarcy, I wasn't having a dig, or calling you a liar. I was genuinely saying I find it hard to believe.

Like when someone says they saw Mrs. Bishop's son down the road, that lovely church going kid, swigging cider on the park bench. "That's unbelievable!"

I just find it hard to believe it... What's wrong w/ that? lol

Scroll down to FA Cup final1956.

It's a miracle really, he should of been dead.

Damn...  That man.

That's how you play football for your team! (Kind of like how Cesc "proved" to be Arsenal all the way w/ a broken leg last season).

I thought you had meant they'd started him with a broken back/neck though - Which is what surprised me, didn't realise you meant he'd gotten it during the game.

Still shocking and quite unbelievable.

Adrenaline can do a lot.

I've dislocated a finger and not noticed till after the game. I felt the pain, but carried on. They're really not that bad an injury. You lose most all of your grip, but you don't need much to catch a ball with keeper gloves on. Then just tape it to the next finger and stick them both in the same hole and its not going to move hardly at all. Basically a splint right there, really good splint if you use those finger save gloves with the splines in the back.

I've seen NBA players walk off the court with fingers bent sideways and return to the game 2mins later... Broken neck though... Ummmmm that's a bit looney toon.
