He did well in the first half but I think he was tired out by the second, hence why he had a lot of poor touches. Will take him a few months to full adapt to the league but that's expected. Still rifled in the disallowed goal, mind.

His goal was legit but disallowed, the man has basically scored in every appearance bar one.

Again shower of sh*t around him that aren't good enough footballers to play through the middle.

Average players last at AFC because all we ask them to do is go wide then hoof the ball in, any dipsh*t winger or midfielder can do that.

We need Sanchez and Ozil up and running asap with Laca up front to see an improvement.

At this stage I'd even be up for switching the front 3 to a 1-2 with Ozil behind Giroud and Lacazette and the wide players can still play amateur football wide from Ozil if needed.

Basically Welbeck has no business being on the field over any player currently, this position should suit him as he's not in midfield, not too wide and gets to run at the defense ......... and yet he still makes a pigs ear out of it.

The offside call for his goal was correct. They zoomed in the replay and he was just slightly offside.
No way in hell the linesman could have seen this, but it was still the right call.

That's what has me miffed. No way he saw it so what was he going off of?

Refereeing instinct and experience I'd imagine.

So he guessed and happened to be right.

Maybe, or maybe it was an educated/experienced guess.

He was accidentally correct. No human would've seen Laca's little toe an inch offside. Guesswork

And we seem to get far less of those in our favor comparatively.

Funny how the next offside lukaku goal will all be about daylight between the defender and striker, the benefit of the doubt should be given to the striker and how these things tend to even themselves out over the course of the season.

Mourinho bursts into the studio and starts screaming about when man u incorrectly got a goal chalked off for offside and that this clearly proves the world is against him.

He then throws himself to the ground, goes limp and refuses to be moved by security until the head of the refs association comes down to the studio to personally apologise to him.

Thing is; why does the offside rule exist? It's easy to get caught up over inches, but the law is there to stop strikers gaining an unfair advantage in positioning.

Laca's body was bang in line with the defender, he gained no unfair advantage imo from being in that position, so I think that's the point where the benefit of the doubt must be given. I'm more concerned that video replays come in... to see a ref look at that and call it offside would feel weird to me, it felt very much like a technicality.
