I disagree there, EK, I think our defence is truly the worst of the top 6, and also the midfield.

Which of Mustafi, Holding, Chambers or the current version of Koscielny would you see in another top 6 side?

Our defence makes far too many basic errors, I mean these errors are embarrassingly bad. I would be pissed if my team at Hackney Marshes conceded them, let alone finely tuned and trained athletes that do nothing else in life BUT defend.

It's a fair point, and you may well be correct that they're just not good enough ....

IMO if we've got limited resources I'd rather spend 100m on midfield and 'risk' the defence, a strong front 6 can carry a weak back 5 .... I don't think Utd, Dippers or Chelsea have 'great' defenders ... in fact in games where their midfield have failed they've shipped plenty of goals ... they just have managers who recognize this and used aggressive tactics that allowed 'average' defenders look OK .... sadly we just hung ours out to dry behind a paper thin midfield in pretty much every big game we played ...

The inescapable issue is that Wonger has left us a squad where six or seven of our regular starters would struggle to even get on the bench at our main rivals ... that sadly will be his true legacy ... not that he'll get the blame, just as Moyes inherited a weak Utd squad and got slaughtered because of that, so the poor sucker who gets our manager position will face a massive challenge just to stay in touch with the top five ..... the entitled modern fans (and we have many) will be expecting the title from day one .... wish him all the luck in the world, he's going to need it ....

This has to be tabloid nonsense right?

I feel a bit embarrassed even posting it but Emery doesn't even do the selling so it must be rubbish right?

It makes total sense really if you think about it

1. Aubameyang is better

2. Lacazette was underwhelming for the money we paid

3. He needs to raise more funds to sign his ideal players considered the 50M budget we have

4. He could play his favourite 4-3-2-1 formation with actual wingers instead of putting our best player striker PEA outwide

I wouldn't lose any sleep over Laca leaving for those reasons alone

As soon as Auba arrived there was plenty of talk right here that no way would AFC keep two £50m CFs on the books.

Laca has been average but deserves at least one season under new management.

I saw that article a few horus ago, makes no sense given the title of it. If he would want to stamp his authority he would sell lazy f***ers like mustafi etc. laca got 14 goals for us in the league which is not bad, sure it could be better but he was injured for us for a bit and he lost his confidence before that which can happen, ewpeiclaly playing for wenger. Dude is sill adjusting, quality of his goals and his link up play with PEA have been good. Very harsh to ship him out. If he finished the season shit I would maybe understand.

It would be one thing if Laca could play on the wing, and Emery should at least try that before binning him. But if it doesn't pan out, it isn't fair to move Auba to the wing to accomodate a slower CF.

Nobody wants a Giroud mk 2. But at the same time we shouldn't sell him unless we can make back every penny we spent in the first place.

I guess Emery never plays with two strikers?

Even still, we need a quality backup.

Would be a very dumb decision. Don't see what it would achieve. Imagine of Auba gets injured, we would have to rely on Welbeck.

Exactly, we need two strikers first off, question, Auba gets injured ........... then what, Welbeck??

Second the guy was our leading scorer in his first season.

The fact that if we sold him we'd need another striker with immediate effect just shows this idea is crazy if true.
