We won't. He has £4m left in contractual pay, and we aren't trying to push him out like we were with Ozil and Sokratis.

We've been down this road with Lacazette. Hardly any touches in the box and no shots. Play him with another striker to bounce off or at least play ESR behind him.

At 1-1 when we started to play a bit more, he did link up on some occasions with Odegaard that caused some problems.
I actually thought he was taken off at the wrong time.
Auba didn't really do anything until the end when he fluffed his lines (again).

The problem is that if we are going to play 1 up top in games we need to have a player who can operate on his own - Laca is better in a 2, as is Auba.
It's not that we should not play 1 up, it's just that we need to go and get a striker who can do it.

Completely agree, both on the single striker issue and the timing of the sub being awful. He was finally getting into the match even if it was a brief spell.

I’d still have put Auba on, as in theory when we need a goal he should be our best bet, but in addition to Laca...at least for 10 mins and see how it works.

Has nothing to beat
Auba looks like he has downed tools

Martinelli never ever plays although had a start last game

Commentators spotted that Arteta had this guy spending most of his time at full back against Everton, no wonder he doesn’t score any goals!

This debate is pointless.

He's not signing a new deal, he'll be gone in summer, end of.

Likelyhood is unless we're bloody suicidal, that in January or latest summer, Arteta will buy a new striker hopefully to supercede both Auba and Laca as our no1 CF.

Exactly this Jay, how many times have we said Auba needs someone to play off, the same goes for Laca, he has looked more effective when he has Auba close to him. We dont have the players to play 1 up top so why does this muppet insist on playing it?

The answer is obvious, its to make us more defensively solid ......... its not working out too well though.
