0n the whole 71 goals and 36 assists in 206 (5?years) games ( many as sub) is not a bad return. Think 50 mil was probably worth it.
Nobody knew he would be decline rapidly this year. If he had scored 10+ , think we would have given him 1yr+ , like Elneny. Ok as a 2nd/ backup experienced striker.

Lyon want to re-sign France forward Alexandre Lacazette, 31, on a free transfer - five years after selling him to Arsenal for £46.5m. (L'Equipe - in French, subscription required)

How he turned out to be so bad I'll never know

Thank you, Laca

Alex Lacazette will be leaving us at the end of his current contract, which runs until June 30.

Since joining us from Lyon in July 2017, Laca made 206 appearances in all competitions, scoring 71 goals.

The 31-year-old was our top scorer in two seasons during his time with us - in 2017/18, and also in 2020/21, when he scored his 50th Premier League goal in the win over Sheffield United in April 2021.

That moved the French striker into the all-time top ten of goalscorers for us in Premier League history – scoring his first goal just 94 seconds into his league debut, against Leicester City, in August 2017.

Laca was an FA Cup winner with us in 2020, was in our FA Community Shield winning team in 2017 and was voted the Arsenal Player of the Season for 2018/19.

Before joining us, Laca had played all his club football for his hometown club Lyon, scoring exactly 100 goals in Ligue 1 during his seven years in the French club’s first team.

Manager Mikel Arteta, said: “Laca has been a fantastic player for us.

"He’s been a real leader on and off the pitch and has been a very important influence to our younger players.

"His commitment with us has been exceptional and we wish him and his family success and happiness.”

Technical Director Edu, added: “A big thank you to Laca from everyone at Arsenal.

"He’s been really important for us. "He will always be part of the Arsenal family and we wish him well for everything in the future.”

Before departing, Laca spoke to us about his time at the club - click the 'Play' button below to watch the full interview.

Thank you, Laca, we wish you all the best for the next chapter in your career.

Laca was in with us during a tough transition period ( with 3 different managers) and did pretty well.
Best of luck to him.

Why he turned garbage I don't know cos he had it in him to score goals and do everything else

His partnership with Auba for that period was quality.

Good luck to him

Expecting him to score plenty now he's away from Artetaball

Always committed every-time he stepped on the pitch and obviously helped and guided the youngsters over the last couple of seasons.

Good luck to him on his return back to Lyon.

Good luck to him, looked dangerous in front of goal prior to Arteta’s arrival, seemed always capable of getting a goal.

His new role seemed to completely nullify his goal threat, consequently he just became a link up player.
