Arteta has to start telling Lacazette to get in the box if he's going to start. His link up play isn't that good where we can afford to have him outside of the box and losing finishing sharpness.

Not perfect but the best CF we have.
We could try Martinelli there but his season has been decimated by Arteta.

We need a player who attacks the ball in the box, we don't have any strikers who will go for a header, we cross the ball and unless it's a perfect ball you know our strikers won't attack it, we need to get a more mobile/quicker giroud type player in the summer imo.

He showed good vision for spotting the opportunity for the 1-on-1 and muscling the defender out of the way. But dear god, he was so slow making that run up the pitch for the shot. I think he lost his nerve and went for the chip at the last second, thinking the defender had caught up to him.

Slavia's GK was making mistakes all game, a simple shot to the bottom corner could have done the job.

He had a great margin of error. And he still missed.

Bring back Giroud

Jokes aside Martinelli does he’s actually insane in the air for someone of his height/physique, shame our manager doesn’t rate him he’d rather play Nketiah if it came to it lol

He could have gone near post, far post, chipped the keeper, nutmeg the keeper....

Works hard for the team but just lacking where it really counts. To be dropping off that deep....his link up play and playmaking ability has to be Bergkamp level to justify a starting place if he's not scoring as much. It was terrible opening 45 minutes and Slavia made it easier for us by pushing up aggressively in the second half. Arteta needs to drop this false 9 role rubbish.

BPL only stats

Lacazette 128 Games, 48 goals, 23 assists 8,309 minutes

Bendtner 136 Games, 36 goals, 16 assists 6,815 minutes

Giroud (Arsenal stats) 180 Games, 73 goals, 27 assists 11,267 minutes

Thought this was quite interesting, Bendtner played in the best attacking side but when you take into consideration he played less minutes and played as a winger sometimes, the other two player statistics don’t look so good, if anything these stats just highlight how bad Giroud was for us he had a quality support during his time at Arsenal, yet Lacazette is on track to match that record/better it

Don’t really know what to make of these statistics tbh, what I will say is Lacazette has been underwhelming for what we paid, however Lacazette has been a victim of bad timing if you put him in the teams Bendtner played in alongside prime Cesc, Rozza, Nasri etc or Giroud alongside prime Ozil, Ramsey, Sanchez, I have no doubt Laca would have been hitting 25+ a season in those sides.

I thought Laca would be much further behind Giroud on goals since he plays second fiddle to Auba. I don't think he'll be here for another 52 league games, but if he is, he should comfortably beat the goals haul.

The problem with him this season is that he is not getting into the box enough. He sits deep, then arrives at the box 2 seconds after Tierney sends in a cross. It's been an issue all season, which is why the 3-3 header against WH was such a surprise.
