Laca makes a great backup for Auba, but we're even luckier than that because they make a great partnership . I would never have guessed it when we signed Auba but it is obvious that they work scarily well together, so regardless of Laca's shortcomings he's a great player to have.

One pre season game??

This has been going on all last season since his injury.

He's snatched at chances, not got shots out of his feet quick enough, passed when he should of shot etc etc.

I'm not sh*tting on him, I've been batting for him and going to war for him all last season, but I'd like to see him step it up a bit because I know he's capable of it.

Auba is among the Top 10-12 strikers in Europe. Of course Laca looks slow and plodding next to him.

What you are experiencing is the shock of having an actual elite striker at Arsenal to measure others against.

Id sell laca and ozil and buy a quality world class winger dembele, bale, dybala and nzonzi and keep ramsey. I like laca but no point having him on bench and our new manager doesnt want a 4-4-2 and ozil isnt a wing player we have to use him centrally but mainly emery likes to press and i dont know if ozil will do that

Loool at Dybala costing 90m

Try double that mate, and that'll just start the negotiations

Am I the only one who thinks Dybala is overrated? Bit of a flat track bully imo.

Overrated or not, he's not leaving juve for less than they paid for a 33 year old Cristiano

I cant see whats wrong with that team as long as the new DM is a high workrate shuttler, use Wilshere to rotate with Ozil and Ramsey, Xhaka to rotate with Mkhitryan and Elneny to rotate with new DM, then buy a new striker to rotate with Lacca/Auba, like Moussa Dembele (home grown), or Balotelli on a free or just use Lucas/Welbeck/Nkeitah.

I approve this message.

Bit like the diamond midfield Liverpool used to play with Sterling at CAM and Sturridge and Suarez as two strikers, they almost won the league with that.

Makes sense as well seeing as we have no wingers.

Along with comments from pudpop, I too am in agreement & can see the almost organic link-up between Lacca & Auba and reminiscent of that which existed between Ozil & Sanchez.

I can only imagine that Auba really enjoys his company or something as at times it seems like he's his big brother looking out for him as opposed to displaying the ultra selfish mentality strikers are renowned for.
I only hope that lacca doesn't become a bit of a dick in wanting to be the main man in this partnership and end up spoiling it for the team.

My opinion is that the team formation above should be pretty much how we at least start the season. Only issue I have is Miki being played from the left instead of the right where he normally plays and has been most successful. I assume that's to accommodate Ramsey.

With the little bull now at the base of our midfield, I'm inclined to think that xhaka is likely to be the one deployed from that left hand side (similar to where he played in Germany) and provide that little bit more solidity but more importantly, the quarterback passing from deep for the quick turnovers that we have lacked since santi got crocked.

We know we have a deadly gunslinger in auba, as such the Emirates could become the new Tombstone with the ammunition provided by Miki, Ozil and Xhaka-tack for our version of Butch & Sundance.

Completely right, wouldn't be worth the money they'd ask. Probs would be looking at 150m for him I think, given what Juve spent on Ronaldo.

Look at the unspeakable shit we've had at the club at various points in the recent past, and then stop moaning about Lacazette

I'm glad we have him, I'm just wanting him to step it up this year.

You say one bit of light critic and people start thinking I want the man gone.
