Giroud also got Willian-level preferential treatment from Wenger, whereas Laca is frequently rotated.

And even after all that the gap between their best seasons is like 3 goals.

To be fair to Giroud, he has scored a decent amount of goals wherever he has played without those players. From his Ligue 1 days before joining Arsenal, International level for France and even with Chelsea where he's heavily rotated. Still not elite level but he's decent.

Lacazette only played a half a season with Sanchez but he played with Ozil enough. It hasn't really worked for him. The funny thing is, I think a Giroud style striker would suit us more today than it did when he played under Wenger.

Laca was good playing with Nabil Fekir where Fekir would drag the defense out allowing Laca time and space in the box. He hasn’t had that kind of partner at Arsenal. Unlike Giroud he doesn’t have the physical attributes to get ahead of a defender either.

True. It's why I think we should move to two up top. Again, some of our best games came from that under Emery. If we don't have midfielders willing to make runs into the box, it leaves the central striker with a lot of work.

Lyon used to play counter attack and that allowed for the Laca and Fekir partnership. But we don’t play that way. So 2 at the top or 3 makes no difference.

Then that throws up a different set of questions if we're talking about changing from possession based to counter attack. You wouldn't necessarily need a Fekir partnership to drag players out of position because when teams are hit on the counter they're already out of position and vulnerable. We were so much better in Arteta's first few months when we were playing counter attacking football. Auba on the left and Laca in the middle worked well.

Heck, if we played counter attacking football we even find a way to play more effectively with Xhaka if necessary.

Okay, who the heck started this rumor of Lacazette and Ødegaard boinking each other at the training facility?

It's all over Twitter.

Some rubbish twitter account (arabic?) claimed yesterday that 2 players were "having sexual relations" on the training ground or whatever, I assume some other twitter idiots now decided who they want it to be. Ignore it.

Heard Saliba's already finished off the whole Marseille team now anyway.
