I will watch closely how many Aubameyang scores for Barca to show what one can do under a manager like Xavi who understands attacking football.

That will be interesting, the spotlight is on Laca now, still, he won't care he is off soon. :tumbleweed:

Laca should care. The better he performs, the more lucrative his next contract.

He should yes as he is in the shop window so I expect him to at least try.

Can Laca make deals with other clubs now for his summer move on a free?
I hope he's stepping up his training, it's mostly on him now to get us some goals.

Even if he deliver, one unlucky injury then we're doomed.

Yes, I think he can talk to clubs as he's into the last few months of his deal. Lyon tried to sign him this window so I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back there.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said the club will do all it can to re-sign 30-year-old France striker Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal in the summer. (Sun)

He’s been made captain by Arteta, very odd decision on two fronts, firstly he has a few months left on his contract, secondly forwards should never be captains, it should be defenders or central midfielders.

Another one of those decisions that are strange we’ve seen in the last 2 years.

He's already been wearing the armband - it's just been confirmed that Laca will continue until the end of the season.
Probably not a bad choice for now... take some time to select a new captain for next year. Might now be so wise to throw the responsibility to a young player at this stage of the season.

Terrible decision - not committed to the club at all - and regardless there will either be no continuity when he leaves, or another overpaid plank will get a new contract ... why not Partey - midfield - experienced (28) - contract until 2025?

The right decision imo.

Nobody else really stands out bar Gabriel but he's shown a bit of indiscipline recently so better keeping it with Laca til the end of the season. Leads on and off the pitch.

Leads on the pitch? only in his own mind and in his press conferences ... he's usually invisible for 85 minutes.

Forwards should never be captains, it should someone that can see what’s happening in front of them.

I also don’t agree to giving the captaincy to someone out of contract in a few months.

Gabriel or Tierney were the obvious choices IMO, they’ll have to be captain in the summer anyway as it won’t be anyone else.

Why do we need time to select a new captain, it’s pretty clear who are the best candidates and they will become captain in the summer.

He’s not a leader and the fact he can’t see what’s happening is also a problem as is the fact he’s out of contract.

We seem to pick the wrong captains time and time again IMO.

Gabriel and Tierney are not young, Gabriel is 24, Tierney is almost 25.

There is no need to rush it.
I wouldn't a young player to be burdened with it right now.
