He isn't physical or good enough dribbling to lead the line on his own unfortunately, quality player though

Needs to learn to go down in the box. He should have had a penalty but kept going

Nearly at the midway point of the season, what does everyone think so far, is he the guy to lead the line and consistently get us 20+pl goals over the next 5 years?

No, he's better than I expected but he won't be a consistent banger like Kane has been in recent years.

Would help if Wenger stopped subbing him when he's spent 70 mins running the defenders into the ground but fed off shit service.

he's definitely in a poor patch.... :BangHead:

like his game, but he's not finishing... ( nor is sanchez which makes it doubly troubling)

Spent a good portion of the season not playing alongside Alexis and Ozil too which certainly won’t help his case.

That aside, lacazette would also benefit from having a strong midfield and defense which we don’t have

Issue is, our midfield doesn't chip in with enough goals, which is why pressure on AOL is so great. I've never seen a supposedly great team where goals are so horrendously distributed.

Ramsey barely gets goals now
Wilshere doesn't get goals
Xhaka scores like two beauties a season
Coquelin doesn't score
You rely on Giroud, Alexis and Ozil to score. Now it's Lacazette, Giroud, Ozil and Sanchez. But no striker will score every game, and not even starting one and subbing another on is a reliable method.

Hell, I think Kolasinac has more goals than our entire midfield combined this season, That's shocking.

In contrast:
At Liverpool, you got the front 3 of Salah, Mane and Firmino, but you got Coutinho chipping in
At Chelsea, Kante gets a few goals ffs, Bakayako is a goal scorer, hell even Matic used to chip in with a goal in any of those close contests with one of those thundershots
At United, wait, they don't attack, ignore them
At City, you got the front 3, then KdB.... and Silva.... and today Gundogan.

For comparison, Fernandinho has 2 goals in the league this season, all our midfielders combined have 3..... and Ramsey has all 3. So even the only midfielder of ours that gets goals and is a box to box player has just one more than a pure DM

Also, people are overreacting after two bad games, Jesus was horrendous today for City, but anyone can say he's class, same with Lacazette

He’s been much better than I expected

His all round game is fantastic, he’ll just end up being another Wenger casualty

He looked pissed after Wenger subbed him off. Rightfully I might add.

Give him 90 mins ffs. What's so difficult in that?

For his first season, limited minutes, and having played limited minutes with both Alexis and Ozil, he is doing fine.

He has shown good movement, intelligent runs, good control, good first touch, and also looks to link up and create for others.

Lately he seems to be rushing his shots when they are available. Could.be a confidence issue but also an anxiety issue knowing that Wenger will sub him off so he wants to get the numbers and impress.

Wenger is being a moron in trying to squeeze in minutes for his project Welbeck. If he wants to bring in Giroud that is fine, but play him with Laca. Welbeck is Wenger's first sub and that is laughable. There is no reason to take Laca out, no matter how poorly he had played, and bring Welbeck in because Laca at his worst is still better than Welbeck, who is an atrocious footballer.

You bought a good striker for 45m. Treat him like that. Start him consistently so he settles in. Don't unsettle him by taking him out and bringing in garbage players like Welbeck.

You spend 50 million on a striker....actually more than 50 million and you dont give him consistent time, its all stop start with him. He treats him like he has been here for 5 years, while giroud has been here 5 years and proven he is not good enough. If Giroud is that good.....you dont spend 50 million on anither striker. He could not only play 90 mins in matches, but he could have given him time in the PL against those weaker teams to get some goals and built his confidence up.

Compare that to Mourinho who spent big on Lukaku. Played him despite having something like 1 goal in 10. Never subs him and openly says he is my main man. One of my untouchable. Thats because Mourinho knows he is his best striker and building him up will reap its rewards. Wenger is such a bad manager
