Hmmm. I do think we need a new LB so that's disappointing and frustrating. Unlike a lot of people on here I definitely think Gibbs is good enough but the boy is just so injury prone we can't rely on him until he has proven he can stay fit

There was a time that running a football club like a business was deemed to be the 'wrong way' of doing things in the same way that having a sugar daddy is now seen as the 'wrong way' of doing things.

Wenger hasn't cashed on Gael - he didn't signed a new contract, so we had no option but to sell him, it's plain business, simple as.

PG seems to have confused himself with that point.

Aha, I see your point. We should've kept him despite the fact he wouldn't sign a new deal. Then, watch him walk away for nothing just so we wouldn't make a profit.

Well if Wenger has no notion of using the Clichy money to sign another left back,we probably would have better off keeping him.Kieran Gibbs has one of the worst injury track records I've ever seen in a player his age, there's no way we can expect him to stay fit for the majority of the season.Ideally our back four should change as little as possible so they can become accustomed to each other, that will not be helped if Gibbs is in and out of the team with injuries.

Once Gibbs gets over his growing pains we'll see a very capable LB. Whether Wenger chooses to bring in another defender remains to be seen but, it was the right move to get rid of Clichy now. Think any different then you're kidding yourself.

When Cashley left I thought what no replacement, I've hardly seen this Clichy play ffs. But he won me over lets hope history will repeat itself with Gibbs.

The only proven winner in red and white at this club? Arsene Wenger. Sack the board.

Wenger - We have what we need at left back

By Chris Harris

Arsène Wenger has hinted that he might not invest in a replacement for Gael Clichy.

The French left back brought his eight-year spell with Arsenal to a close this month when he signed for Manchester City, leaving Wenger without one of his most senior players ahead of the 2011/12 season.

However, the Arsenal manager has a full England international waiting in the wings and he is happy with his back-up options too.

"The plan for left back is that we have Kieran Gibbs, Armand Traore and Thomas Vermaelen can play there too. So we have what we need," said Wenger.
