Once we have a defense and midfield then we can start talking..

Agreed. Although Miki and Auba really are like Pires and Henry PES regens.

Auba looks like Thierry, has the same snake zodiac which helps and his lighting fast, not as good obviously but similar in quality.

Mik's all round quality in the final 3rd again is reminiscent of Pires.

The link between these two and Ozil could be something special if we sort the defence out, crying out for a commanding defensive mid!

Lehmann - Cech
Lauren - Bellerin
Campbell - Mustafi
Toure - Koscielny
Cole - Monreal
Ljungberg - Wilshere
Gilberto - Xhaka
Vieira - Ramsey
Pires - Mkhitaryan
Henry - Aubameyang
Bergkamp – Ozil

Keown - Mertesacker
Cygan – Holding
Parlour - Elneny
Edu - Kolasinac
Reyes - Cazorla
Kanu - Lacazette
Wiltord - Welbeck

Clichy - Maitland-Niles
Aliadiere - Reine-Adelaide
Bentley - Iwobi
Hoyte - Chambers

Its the CB and CM pairing that stand out to me!

Cazorla over Reyes. Lauren vs Bellerin questionable. And that's really all.

Its quite clear how big the gulf is when it's layed out like that

Bellerin isn't questionable imo. No way he should even be mentioned in the same sentence as Lauren, Bellerin has done nothing in his career so far. Can't even be competed with Sagna at the moment

Defending.

He was also better on the ball than Kos.

Toure marshaled a back line consisting of Flamini, Senderos and Eboue to the CL final.

Unreal.

Kolo was great with sol got a bit lost after that although credit for the cl run, kos has made to many errors and been apart of far to many horror shows for my liking, doesn't seem commanding enough at times either, would give kolo the nod kos is still a very good defender though,

Yes, another example of how shit defending is these day.

I'm getting really angry and fed up with this f***ing ball watching epidemic in the game. players DO NOT f***ing MARK!!!! anymore!

So many goals are just embarrassing these days!

The problem is Companies like Sky Sports who sell the game to us so they must be ultra positive on the current state on the game and not speak about these issues!

Kolo also never had a shocking season.

Kos was terrible his first season and been awful this.

Definitely more erratic and error prone.

Kos wouldn't even catch malaria. Would just let it go by while he watches
