That £50m on Zubimendi is already starting to bother me. He clearly has funds locked and loaded for future targets, but there isn't a proven goalscorer anywhere on his radar.

I wonder how many defenders he will bring in next season?

Seamen is wrong. The missing piece is not just the striker. We are missing a creative midfielder who can sit behind Odegard and unlock deep defenses. And a left wing forward who has a high production rate. A striker alone will not solve the problem.

Arsenal might have to sell Belgium forward Leandro Trossard, 30, or their 23-year-old Brazil winger Gabriel Martinelli to fund a summer rebuild, with both players targets for Saudi Pro League clubs. (Mirror)

Lol

Keep them. Sell Havertz and Jesus

Rebuilding the rebuild. The process of trusting the process.

Arteta isn't going to sell Havertz. He's more likely to be offered an extension next year.

Arsenal want to sign Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Joshua Kimmich, 30, on a free transfer this summer. (Sky Sports), external

The Gunners have registered concrete interest in signing Kimmich, with a deal to sign Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi, 26, from Real Sociedad understood to be close. (Metro), external

Liverpool and Barcelona are among the other clubs interested in Kimmich. (Sun), external

Aston Villa have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic, 25, who is increasingly likely to leave Juventus in the summer. (TeamTalk)

Arsenal could decide to target RB Leipzig's 21-year-old Slovenia forward Benjamin Sesko as a more affordable alternative to Newcastle United's Alexander Isak, potentially paving the way for Liverpool to sign Sweden striker Isak, 25, from their Premier League rivals. (Liverpool Echo)

Arsenal could face competition from AC Milan for Wolves and Algeria left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, 23. (CaughtOffside)

We had some promising young attackers. ESR, Nelson, Bierith, Balogun. Maybe they wouldn’t have been stars, but it was worth trying. I’d rather see Bierith given a go up top instead of Merino.

Club record revenuies but we have to sell to buy. That's Stan/Josh and our "good owners".

Record revenues and record costs. We lost £17m last season, and that was before Arteta doubled his wages to £15m/yr.

Selling isn't an issue. The question is why are we so averse to signing forwards? How many top clubs are this skeptical in signing forwards?

That's something I haven't understood, and can only speculate.

Even if you look at Pep, who's known to be a control-freak, he has managed Henry, Eto'o, Villa, Lewandowski, Aguero, and Haaland.

The only trophy the Kroenkes have won since becoming sole owners of the club was the one that Aubameyang starred in.

The club could sell for profit. But not investing in quality forwards is just baffling.
