He scored vs Palace and Brentford, Brentford were in the bottom half of the table at kick off yesterday, so lets not make out Brentford are some top team. Difficult to beat at home, maybe, but its bloody Brentford not prime Chelsea at home under Mourinho !

Jesus is doing as good or better than Havertz ever has.

We'll know over the next month if he is definitely better than Havertz or not at ST because we still need a bigger sample size.

What do you mean we need a bigger sample size?? You can't just ignore Jesus' entire career for Arsenal to suit your argument!!

72 apps at CF, 26 goals, 16 assists. A goal every 2.76 apps, an assist every 4.5 apps

Havertz, 38 apps at CF, 16 goals, 10 assists. A goal every 2.37 apps, an assist every 3.8 apps

Jesus has more sub appearances, ok, lets do mins. Jesus goal every 178 mins, assist every 289 mins.

Havertz, goal every 201 mins, assist every 322 mins

Ok, so Jesus actually has better stats per minute played, that surprises me.

Anyway, I am not prepared to just ignore Jesus' Arsenal career or his career as a while up to this point. He is never proved to have the consistency you seem to be hoping he will get for the remainder of the season, hell, thats why he lost his place to Havertz in the first place

They beat Palace, Southampton, Wolves, Ipswich, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Leicester. They drew with West Ham.

Whats so great about that?? Who have they played apart from Arsenal and Newcastle at home?

They are Brentford lol. Not some super power club.

A good unexpected win at a tough place for us. Long may it continue

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on potential incomings in the January transfer window: "I don't know. The focus is on the players that we have. If there is somebody in the market that we can afford and we believe they will have a real impact on the team then we have to be open for that possibility always. At the moment, the focus is on what we have."

on whether it’s simplistic to say we have to sign a striker this month to win the league:
I don’t know, it can be a perception, it can be a reality. Signing someone is not enough, that's for sure because that signing then has to score how many goals? A lot of things have to happen. Sign and then I score 20 goals from here until the end and then you have a better chance? Maybe, yes. I don't know!  But I'm very happy with the players that we have. If you look at the amount of goals that we score as well, it’s more than enough to win a Premier League, and our other numbers as well. But the reality is if somebody doing more, that's life so we have to be better.

on whether people have to be realistic about what can happen in a January window:
That market is much more limited than the one in the summer, but I don't know. People's expectations and dreams are something good.

Two weeks ago when we were dropping points he said, everyone knows we have the thinnest squad in the league. Changed his tune.

Zubimendi is a big one for me.

It looks like we're definitely losing Jorginho and the new and improved Partey. We showed interest in Zubimendi first. It got dragged out over a few windows, dissipated due to the players loyalty, and since then both Liverpool and City have shown heavy interest.

He's a top player, with an affordable release clause, and it looks like City and Pool have jumped in late and will no doubt force the issue. For me it's a bit of a statement. I think we need to fight for him. Could have waited til the Summer, but it looks like Pep needs a Rodri replacement now.

Wide and up front though? Kudus and Cunha (£125m) and then a summer move for a big star (Isak would be my choice). Cunha is more than affordable, and looks like a solid squad player. Kudus is £85m, which is steep, but it's the going rate for someone with stats like his (I remember reading somewhere that he's in the top 1% for recoveries from forward players across Europe). The whole thing about January is that no one wants to lose their players, but a release clause is a release clause, it's there if we want it.

... turning into a bit of a wishlist.

He couldn't sound more like Wenger if he tried !

Doubt anyone expected him to say anything else

Part of me thinks his idiotic press conferences are down to English being a second language, but then there is a part of me that says, he has been in Britain for a long enough time to be clear when he speaks !!

He said buying a striker is not enough, because then he needs to score 20 goals. So what ?? Thats stupid logic. So lets never try to do anything because trying to do something is just the start, you will need to do something else for it to be effective ! Yeah, and?? Thats the real world, you have to try "things", not a solitary "thing" to succeed.

Then he said the reality is if someone is doing more we have to be better. Ok, so if they are scoring more which Liverpool are how do we become better? By scoring more ourselves. We do that by improving our game play or by bringing in better quality.

He’s been exposed this season and is flapping to keep from drowning. Even the fanboys have run away (except you, of course).
