Asking why we don't sign a striker

Says everything you need to know

look on the bright side.
Now you can lower your expectations because we cant possibly win anything without a new striker, right?
Just relax then and enjoy the football.

Fans won’t stand for another losing season. Arteta and Edu are on notice. Win or else…

Perhaps it was because Arteta was more interested in buying players to help the defence, he is not a very attack-minded coach.

We all know what this is......

Arteta wants to protect Kai Havertz, he doesn't want to upset his progress by giving him competition that may oust him as 1st choice.......hence he's happy with having Jesus, a non-threat to Kai.

Not good for the team though if Kai has an injury or bad run of form.

Decent and more or less exactly as expected.
Some of us just know.
We're in a phase of tweaking an excellent squad.

I expected a striker.

We've done enough to come 2nd.

We never take that extra step like Real Madrid do.

I am very happy we’re not a club that just buys success.
We’ve been through a massive rebuild phase and brought in players everyone can get behind and like. Good characters.
Winning with this team will mean a lot and i believe we can do it.

Don't we? We bought Rice for £100m, every club "buys success" players aren't free.

I know what you mean as in we don't just throw money at it like Chelsea or City, but it's more there is no excuse for us not to buy what we need as a squad.

We have one CF now.......we needed another, that is not "buying success" that is having squad depth.

Sterling is a good replacement for Nelson, so now where is Nketiah's replacement?

4 mil net spend. That’s a good catalyst if we need to splurge in the next window.

Our squad rebuild that was needed has been done.
I think it will be mainly tweaks now for a while
That's the really important thing.
We have a lot of young players that have years left at the top level.
The main task is keeping them and adding 1 or 2 each year - preferably young to keep the squad sustainable as challengers for the top honours for the long haul.

Fookin-ada!!

I cannot believe we bought this has-been !! I can only assume Arteta knows some shit about Sterling that nobody else knows.

On his day he is a terrific player, but that was peak Sterling, are we getting anything close to that?

Anyway, whinge over, he is better than what we had on the bench for the most part anyway, time to look at the positives, the good things he will bring, pace, trickiness, and hopefully some significant goals and assists.

Yep - if it completes, lets give him the chance of a clean slate and hope he does well here.

Yeah I am not pleased but the optimist in me is looking at what Sterling does well. If Arteta can unlock the Sterling cheat code it could be the transaction of the window. Lets all join hands and pray.

Didn;t need one
We've been scoring a record number of goals for 2 seasons running.
That's what I and some others have been saying and the club seem to agree.

Jay, who gives a flying shit what the club thinks?? We came second twice because we were not properly prepared!!! Feels like we are not properly prepared again, we will see.
