Summer Transfer Window

Postby Ach » Tue Apr 09, 2024 10:41 pm

Much like the last few, a quality striker needed. Also seem to be looking for a CM.

Anything else? FB cover on both sides?

Striker - Toney ideally. If not him, then Isak.

Two CMs - Any one of these would do - Enzo Fernandez, Zubamendi, Kimmich, Douglas Luiz, or Camavinga.

A young back up CB.

Sell Zinchenko, Nketiah, Nelson, Lokonga, Tavares, Ramsdale.

Partey can stay, provided he keeps fit. If not, then sell him next season. Elneny can be a back-up but he should go next season too. Play him in a league cup game against a League 2 side or something.

Not sure about ESR. We know his quality. But he won't get game time. Maybe if we sold him that could finance the striker we need.

I'd keep Jesus, but then he may have to be content to be a bench player.

Trossard needs to start more. If this means Havertz is playing more in number 8 or benched, so be it.

Striker

Isak not good enough. People complain about Jesus finishing and then want Isak. Lol.

Toney not worth the price Brentford will ask for.

Better to go for Osmihen and give Napoli Jesus

Currently do not require any new players.
Depends on who is leaving in terms of what we will need in the summer.

Exits i would not mind given injury records
Partey
Elneny
Jesus
ESR

We'll see who leaves.

If no one does, we're good to go next season as is.

Goals and games are just stats apparently.
Not useful

Neto far too injury prone.

With our medical staff, he'll be dead within a month

Can't disagree with the rest.

A striker is a must

None needed. Even Partey, Jorginho are fine for an yr or two. Promote academy boys and re-evaluate players on loan. Young vibrant and evolving team. Ready for the long haul.

It does depend on who leaves - so we might have a need during the summer.
As it stands though, there are no positions required.

An upgrade on Eddie is an obvious thing.

Very unlikely to find a 3rd choice striker - which is what Nketiah now is - anywhere near as good. Impossible probably
Even as a backup he's one of the better ones in the league

These transfer window discussions inevitably spiral down to 'i don't like this or that player... have to get rid'.
Then onto a long list of average footballers we 'must get' - which if we got them all would be a squad of 150 players and chaos.
