The post-Saka classes have been awful. Only Biereth and Okonkwo did anything on their loan spells. Azeez, Patino, and BNC have tanked their own values.

But, the same people demanding and expecting championship seasons also want us to bleed these League 2 level players? This is how you know they are unserious people.

Any particular reason you ignored Willock and Balogun, who brought in £60m despite not getting a chance here?

Also, Hutchinson, Cozier-Duberry and Obi-Martin have signed for PL clubs, so I'd hold my judgement.

Hutchinson has 1 sub app.Obi-Martin won't get any mins in the next 18 months probably while Cozier-Duberry has not played a minute or professional football?
Whats the logic here to metion them?

Ben White and Ramsdale both had 1 season in the PL before Arteta paid £75m for them.

We have a habit of not giving players under our own roof a chance, and paying over the odds for somebody else's academy product.

Players with experience in the PL are not 'academy' players.
They already made it through the very difficult phase of breaking through the academy and into first team PL football.
Which academy player from another club have we bought that has gone straight into our first team?

Couldn’t care less about what age players are, I just want to win

Win - that's the goal. For that, all these strategies, experiments, trials and errors, head pounding. At this point, just to get over the 1000 lb gorilla, ManCity.
But we have to be careful about scorpions like Villa and Newcastle too; theirs sting could be painful and fatal, like it happened in last two seasons.

Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly unlikely to go on loan after their impressive summer performance. Will be in and around the first team this season.

I would say in and around the first team squad.
I don;t expect them to get that many minutes - certainly not in the PL.
Would be nice if they improved at pace and actually were viable first team players - I cant see it this year though

Nwaneri is clearly ready. If you know, you know. He should get garbage minutes in any match we've won by the 70-80th minute mark. He's absolutely ready for the spotlight.

He'll start every game if Odegard gets injured. Cant see anyone else playing in that position. Trossard is not a link player and Vieira has flopped. Hope Arteta sees common sense and integrates him into the first team.

What about Lewis-Skelley? His profile seems very good, is he ready? I am thinking can he be used like Elneny was, to shore up games late on if we need an extra body in midfield?

Kinda agree with HH here we will probably see Lewis Skelley more than Nwanieri. His player profile seems more usable for the team to give rest to Zinchenko in games where we need control.

I like MLS but seems like there’s more competition for his spots. He played a lot of 6 in the academy and LB in preseason. His pathway just has more bodies in front of him. Good good player though.

The draw against Bolton should give Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly starting opportunities. Curious to see what they can bring to the team this year, though not expecting more than a few hundred minutes for them all year.

I hope I am looking forward to seeing how they perform.

Great job by the Don tonight

Gave starts to the two lads closest to the first team

Brought others on towards the end for first caps

Massive morale boost for the academy tonight

A move in the right direction, shame we lost so many good talents on his watch.
