In a rising housing market you get 'gazumping' that's people paying over the asking price for properties they want ....

In your analogy football is the greatest rising market of all time .... going in low when everybody else is going in high ... just means you will end up living in your parents bedroom for ever ....

Arsenal are becoming the Kings of doing things in reverse - keep the dross sell the quality - feed our rivals - sell quality cheap buy average expensive - give the love children new contracts but not the star players - DIVIDE OUR FANS .......

We could become the training school example of 'how not to do it' if we don't change soon .....

Alexis has won 2 trophies in three seasons. That's more than say Coutinho or Kane have won. He's gone from being a Barca reject who only attracted interest from Liverpool and arsenal to being one of the worlds most desired players. Fair enough he wants to scale greater heights but Arsenal has been pretty good to him. No need for so much self loathing. It's undignified.

In the last two years Arsenal have dropped from 7th to 16th in the world football club rankings .... http://footballdatabase.com/ranking/world/1

You may not agree with these numbers, however every ranking site says the same thing, we've gone backwards, you can't argue with the truth .... we're now behind Chelsea, Spurs, City and Utd and just one place above Liverpool ....

Sanchez has his pick of the top ten sides ... despite his best efforts in two years at Arsenal we continue to go backwards ... that's not his fault

How many off us expect to win the EPL or CL this season (especially as we're not in it)? If Sanchez stays and we make a couple more signings then I would say we have a shot at the EPL ... If Sanchez leaves then I would say top four will be very hard ....

So at 28 his choices are to stay and play for a top twenty side with an outside chance at the EPL, or to leave and play for a top ten side with a good chance at their domestic title and a shot at the CL ...

Be honest which would you choose if you were in his position .....

 We will be lucky to get in the top 6, but no surprises really, same old bollocks just a different season, at least the WIB are happy, we will never be amongst the best in Europe with this charlatan.

Why would we be lucky to get in the top 6? Liverpool, Spurs and Everton haven't really strengthened. We'll probably finish fourth as usual.

How was he a Barca reject? He started 27 games in La Liga in his last season at Barca. He had 7 sub appearances. He scored 19 goals and had 10 assists. Good figures.

But Barca saw Suarez come on the market and his figures were astonishing. In his last season at Liverpool he scored 31 league goals!!

Interestingly Barca sold Sanchez a day before they bought Suarez.

It's funny because other than Ozil and Sanchez, none of our team are good enough to even be Barca rejects

The "Barca reject" narrative is so lame.

Yep and most of us would be thrilled to have more Barca/Madrid rejects.

There's nothing wrong in being a Barca or Real reject. It's not meant to be an insult. After all if Sanchez were accepted at Barca he'd have never joined us. But the fact is he wasn't. They found someone better and his options were limited. Should he leave Arsenal tomorrow he will leave feeling his three seasons here were well spent in building a brilliant reputation.

Oh well, fasten your seat belts and here we go again. Will try to get to every game and no doubt I will be as stressed as fook when the same failings occur pretty much from day one. Unbelievable how wenger has done exactly the same thing this summer as he has done for the past 10 years or so. So arrogant, so disrespectful. Really sad that I had so much respect for the man and what he did for our club probably up until about 2011 or so but now I try and separate my disrespect for what he has become for my blind loyalty and love for The Arsenal. Would be naive to think that if it starts to go smelly at Wembley and /or against Leicester that the red army can separate the wenger/Arsenal piece and make the Emirates a (positive) bear pit of noise and see if that guves a few % to the team.

More utter drivel from Wonger -

“Nobody knows if Sanchez will not extend his contract here. The performance on the day does not depend on the length of the contract. If that was true we would sign everyone for 20 years.”

"When you’re a football player you want to go out and play and do as well as you can. What does that have to do with the length of your contract? How long do you know that you will work for your company? As long as you work you do well"

“Everybody has to perform,” he added. “When you are a football player you perform until the last day of your contract. What does it change if you have two years or one year to go? If you go out on the football pitch you want to play and you want to do well"

Does he live on a different planet? Payet just last season? I'm sure we can all name dozens more who have run down contracts, whose form dropped off and who then left under a cloud ....

and then there's this -

“Why? Because transfers become so high, even for normal players, they will go to the end of the contract because no-one will want to pay the amount of money that is demanded. I am convinced that in the next 10 years that will become usual.”

When all around us players are signing longer and longer contracts, when contracts are being renewed yearly with massive buy-out fees, when transfer fees are going up not down, when playing assets are worth more and more - along comes Wonger with the exact opposite philosophy .... so who's going to pay the price if he's wrong?

Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Santi Cazorla all free agents next year ... they will cost 250m to replace and all potentially leaving our club for nothing ..... utter madness

Wonger is gambling with our clubs very future .... what the feck is going on .....

Wilshere, Gibbs and Cazorla with his injuries are probably worth 10 million between them.
