Will Auba come back and haunt us?

Postby casual69 » Thu Aug 04, 2022 5:55 am

With Chelsea entering into talks to bring Auba back to the Premier League, is this a clinch bum cheeks time?

Didn't Barca just sign him on a free and didn't he score loads of goals for them ?? Why would they entertain selling him already ?

I doubt it. I like Aubameyang, but he is better in a more fluid team where he can roam around freely with less defensive responsibility.

They need more than one forward ....... Lewandowski central, Auba wide.

Look at the numbers Chelsea are throwing around. I'd be tempted to sell, especially as the player was a free gift to begin with.

Barca are loaded with attackers currently. Auba and Lewy are the best in terms of goalscoring, but they also have Fati, Dembele, Memphis and F. Torres, and they can't all play.

Currently Auba is benching £50m Torres, who has been woeful since joining.

We paid Barca to take him.

If they get a fee for him it's total humiliation

I don't think it'll go through. Barca can afford Auba's wages thanks to us, and Xavi knows he's a good influence on Dembele. Barca don't need to sell anyone except de Jong, and only because they brought in Kessie as a replacement.

They have loads of wide options, if anything too many of them as well.

Hope he doesn’t come back as I reckon he’ll be very motivated to score against us and will probably do so if he does come back.

I still rate him as a very good goalscorer.

I think he gets no change from Saliba and Gabriel ... if he comes back. He will be in their pockets.

Chelsea will struggle to create chances, same as last year. Sterling was a great buy in that respect, but I don't think he'll be hitting the ground running right away as half the team are brand new players.

I think Sterling's numbers were so high because he was playing for a Man City side that gave him a lot of tap-ins, he wont get that at Chelsea and his shooting/finishing is pretty poor in my opinion. His transfer to Chelsea does nothing to bother me.
