Zinchenko in his last 50 appearances for ManCity:-
Games. Position. Rating
32. LB. 7.2
12. CM. 7.2
2. ACM. n/a
2. DM. 6.0
1. Lft Mdfld. n/a
1. Let DM(?) 9.2.

He played in 15 PL games i. 21-22 season ( 10 as starter 5 as Sub)
Pretty much the breakdown of Zinny of late.
So, clearly he has been hired to care for the LB area primarily.

Think Arteta had confirmed he’s here to play LB. Looks like another year of Xhaka as our number 1 midfielder.

Tielmans or Paquetta will come in and we also have the development of lokonga who I still feel can be world class and will be better next year

Great signing.

Zinchenko at 30m > Martinez at 46m

Much better value for money, PL experienced, and covers key positions like LB + CM.

We completely fell apart last season as soon as 1-2 players got injured so I like our thinking this summer i.e. buy solid players who can step in.

Lokonga far away from being ready. Worse than relegation material AMN.

@afcstuff: Oleksandr Zinchenko only gave the green light to Arsenal because of Mikel Arteta. As with Gabriel Jesus, their relationship from working together at Manchester City was very strong & it’s been a big help. [@FabrizioRomano]

We're lucky to have a manager in charge that clearly has a lot of respect in the game and players want to play for.

3rd choice Man City LB sings Arteta's praises looooool.

Often overlooked Man City striker sings Arteta's praises loooooooool.

One thing we can be certain of, they didn't come to Arsenal because of Arteta's reputation for playing good football

Jesus clearly stated it was Edu that convinced him to sign on as well.

Wrong again.

Jesus said: “We (Arteta) spoke a couple of times about the club, the players, the project and the future. I believe 100 per cent in Mikel. I had a very good time with him before, he’s a very good guy and a very good coach as well. He helped me a lot [at Manchester City]. We would always stick together after the training sessions and do some finishing or something. He’s a very intelligent guy and was an amazing player, so if he knows something he can teach me or the young players.”

Here is it again, he clearly states it was Edu.

“I think the conversation between me and Edu was amazing. I was so happy with the project of the club. And then, straight [away], I say ‘yes, I think my way is in London’.”

None of these players care about Arteta.

Players are here to earn a good wage and play in a 60,000 world class stadium in an elite league.

Being around a familiar face helps, thats literally it. Everyone we have signed is getting aerious wages bar maybe Marquinhos.

Of course they don’t, he’s a nobody in the management world, what’s has he achieved, 5th place after spending a huge fortune, prior to that two 8th places.

Which player is going to believe in the vision of a man with no record of success as a player or manager.

Edu at least was part of period of success for Arsenal and being Brazilian will also have some pull for Brazilian players.

Literal quotes from him saying that he was impressed with Arteta and how he adores the manager but if you want to dismiss it then that's your prerogative :dontknow:

@JacobsBen: “Certainly with Gabriel Jesus, it was Arteta that was one of the big clinching aspects of that. Obviously, he knows Jesus from his time at Manchester City, but it was still the fact he was able to sell Arsenal, not just himself as a manager.” [@TFTerrace]

Why is there so much negativity and who the f**k cares who or what got Jesus to come.

We signed him, he's an Arsenal player. We move.
