No pundit had us in the top four before the season. I doubt many gooners though we were a shoe-in for top four either. We chose not to spend on a striker in january, mostly due to not being able to land our prefered target, Vlahovic.

The proof will be in the pudding this summer. If we kept our powder dry in the january window, we better come out guns blazing in this transfer window. The team is on the up, but it needs strengthening.

Trouble is Vlahovic said from the off that he didn't want to come to Arsenal. We could have bought somebody else who could have done a job for us.

Chelsea have been run as a profitable club for several years before Covid - their income this year will be 150m - 200m more than ours due to the EIGHTEEN extra games they've played this season. They can outspend us legitimately by 100+ million as can City, Liverpool, Utd and Spurs ... to even remotely believe that a billionaire investing 4 billion into a club is not going to support that investment is frankly insane - get a grip.

I remember Wenger doing the same thing the season Leicester won the title, hid didn't strengthen in January, then Welbeck was injured for a hundred years, we all thought Wenger knew he was going to be out injured. A decent signing and we might have won the league that year, when nobody else seemed to want it but Leicester.

spuds made two great signings in Jan and basically turned their season around with conte having time as well. we got left behind as soon as the decision was made not to strengthen, if spuds had done the same thing they wouldnt be near challenging us for fourth.

Proactive and obviously want to succeed, we on the other hand, apparently because 4th wasn't planned we're just happy to not fight for it.

I agree, tonight is a very important night for the next few years of AFC, if we fail to get top 4 it won’t bode for the next few seasons, thats unless the board do the right thing and find someone capable of making us a top team again.

Totally agree, people were saying those signings were rubbish and wouldn’t make a difference, in fact they made a huge difference.

We sat there going after Vlahovic who never wanted to come and didn’t get anyone.

If Spurs get 4th they’ll pay for themselves and the rewards are huge.
