The proof will be in the pudding this summer. If we kept our powder dry in the january window, we better come out guns blazing in this transfer window. The team is on the up, but it needs strengthening.

Trouble is Vlahovic said from the off that he didn't want to come to Arsenal. We could have bought somebody else who could have done a job for us.

Yes I don’t know why we wasted our time, it was clear as day he didn’t want to come, to not have other options is very poor planning.

Chelsea have been run as a profitable club for several years before Covid - their income this year will be 150m - 200m more than ours due to the EIGHTEEN extra games they've played this season. They can outspend us legitimately by 100+ million as can City, Liverpool, Utd and Spurs ... to even remotely believe that a billionaire investing 4 billion into a club is not going to support that investment is frankly insane - get a grip.

Exactly, there is no way they will not protect their investment.

Brave and bold? Come off it!!

In anyone else's book it would be seen as stupidity and stubbornness. If it was Wenger it would be stubbornness and stupidity.

Nothing brave about failing to sign players we needed. That’s cutting off you nose to spite your face if anything.

Is it “brave” to bet your life savings in roulette? Feels like it was a massive gamble not signing a striker (or another CM tbh) in January with no upside.

If we get top 4 he'll be vindicated, if not, many fans will be aggrieved, I doubt if the owner will be bothered.

He's already been vindicated.
Top 4 was never the bar between success or failure this year.
Top 4 would be an amazing season.

Only in your world, not in mine. We might have been home and dry for top 4 with a decent striker in January. You don't look at the season as a whole when your presented with a chance to get top 4 with a good signing in January.

Precisely, top 4 was handed to us on a plate, all we had to do was grab it.

To fail to get top 4 now would be a shocking failure.

I remember Wenger doing the same thing the season Leicester won the title, hid didn't strengthen in January, then Welbeck was injured for a hundred years, we all thought Wenger knew he was going to be out injured. A decent signing and we might have won the league that year, when nobody else seemed to want it but Leicester.

Someone's drank the Vinai coolade.

All these excuses are is a backstop for Vinai explaining another year of failure to Stan so he can keep his job, fact is you take the situation as it is, you don't give up on 4th just because you think it's not the target.

Top 4 is the target for every club in premier league so how the fk is it not Arsenal's target??

Proactive and obviously want to succeed, we on the other hand, apparently because 4th wasn't planned we're just happy to not fight for it.

......its like having Spurs fans among us.

This whole season boils down to tonight.

Hope the lads don't collapse like at Spurs, that became a sht show by half time.

Poor game plan by Arteta followed by Holding imploding.

Hopefully tonight will be different.

I agree, tonight is a very important night for the next few years of AFC, if we fail to get top 4 it won’t bode for the next few seasons, thats unless the board do the right thing and find someone capable of making us a top team again.

Totally agree, people were saying those signings were rubbish and wouldn’t make a difference, in fact they made a huge difference.

We sat there going after Vlahovic who never wanted to come and didn’t get anyone.

If Spurs get 4th they’ll pay for themselves and the rewards are huge.
