It would be another Arteta special - pay to give away Auba for free but claim some kind of success making a small profit selling Saliba.

I would not ordinarily believe a scenario so pathetically incompetent could arise, but having seen what I have seen already, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Being linked to a player and getting them are two totally different things, AW was linked to any player that could not walk half the time .but ultimately signed players that could walk. Its all media hype and propaganda

We should go balls to the wall for Declan Rice. Him and a top striker would have us battling for the title I think. He's a cross between Vieira and Gerrard.
£130m on Rice,
£50m Jesus,
£10m Hickey,
£30m Ivan Toney.
We'd be up there.
Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack.

Ivan Toney, are you blokes for real?!!!! :BangHead:

We are Arsenal, Brentford is Ivan Toney's level. We are not that desperate.

People said that about Ramsdale and White. I see him as the centre forward equivalent.

What about Ian Wright when he was at Palace? Would you have seen him as good enough?

What do we need in a striker, for Arteta ball?

Strong
Quick
Good link up play
Good in the air
Goals
Prem experience
Reasonable salary

Here we have Ivan Toney!!

Also he has never missed a pen!

Its not even slightly the same!! Ramsdale actually looked decent for Sheffield United and White although nowhere near worth £50m didn't look poor. Toney looks poor, ultra basic, I didn't have a problem with us signing either player on the basis they were not good enough, my only gripe was the price of White.

Ian Wright was banging in goals for Crystal Palace, that wasnt a gamble, the Wright and Bright combo was terriffic, not even a comparison.

His technique is poor.

I cant even believe people are even contemplating him, dreadful player for any club with ambitions Arsenal should have - to buy

He'd already scored 90 goals for Palace, cost us a then club record fee 2.5m - not everyone wanted him but that's because we already had two quality strikers - so yes he was good enough - would you want to pay a record fee for Toney?

Sadly im a big fan of Declan Rice , but can't see him joining us anytime before hes in his 30s.Its reality and it hurts i know.
Imagine being on the peak of ur skill at the age 23 being spoken about by every pundit and every fan and here comes Arsenal that we're battling with West ham most of the season for 4-5th and at the same time big clubs are after u that can offer u Champions League football EVERY Season , not battling for that but being there with chance to win CL and PL every season ye gl.

130 million is a crazy amount, Rice is worth nowhere near that.

That list won’t have us challenging for the title either, Man City and Liverpool are miles ahead and those players aren’t going to change that.

Jesus isn’t wanted at City and has never been that good for them, they’ve already signed a huge upgrade on him and have another forward from South America as well.

If you want to get closer to City and Liverpool, don’t sign players they don’t want that haven’t really done a lot with them despite years with them.

Toney isn’t much do a scorer either, as for Hickey he’s pretty unproven, he’s very young and had a nightmare against Ukraine the other day, I think it will take him a few years to get up to speed.

Then on top of that those clubs have Guardiola and Klopp, we’ve got Arteta.
