Drop 100m+ on Brighton for cucurella, lamptey and bissouma.

Get a striker in as well. Not from Brighton

That's the summer done

I'd keep Xhaka as back up and get a proper striker (Nunez, Toney, DCL type) instead of one of either Jesus or Gnabry, otherwise spot on.

Don't think they will go for an overdrive. There will be couple of shrewd plug ins. Probably a striker and a CM. Our talented academy boys will be allowed to grow.
Patino, Azeez, boys on loan ...

We definitely need 2 strikers unless Eddie stays.

We also need a top CM and backup in several positions.

I think we will spend most of our money on CM & ST and then bring in several depth players.

Jesus - 40m
Dybala - free
Hickey - 17m
Marquinhos - 3m
Tielmans - 30m

£90m ... Not bad business. Saliba and Nelson could come in from loans.

Replace Xhaka with Neves are we are sorted.

Would mean Saliba, Martinelli, ESR and Xhaka should all get game time covering more than one position.

We could then relegate Holding to fourth choice CB and keep Elneny as fourth choice CM. They would both be further down in the pecking order than this season and get even less game time.

We could have either Marquinhos or Nelson as fourth choice wing forward knowing they wouldn't get much game time. Similarly Norton-Cuffy could come in as third choice RB and Nketiah kept or Balogun brought in as third choice striker.

Our domestic cup team against lower league clubs would then be:

Balogun
Martinelli--Smith Rowe--Nelson
Xhaka--Elneny
Hickey--Holding--Saliba--Norton-Cuffy
Turner
Raya/Ramsdale
White/Tomiyasu--Saliba/Timber--Gabriel/Kiwior--???/Zinchenko
???/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/???
Saka/Jesus-------------------Martinelli/Trossard
???/Havertz

Getting our business done early :hail:

Remember the dross Wenger years where we'd wait until the last day because he kept telling us that's the norm. Now we know it was bullsh*t.
Under Wenger the Auba situation would still be going on preventing us from making signings.

Still baffles me why we signed Laca then Auba 6 months later.

I honestly think the club were just making signings to appease the fans at that stage. Failed to face up to the need to totally revamp and change the culture at the club.
The difference today is that Arteta is basically letting the fans know they are clueless and he’s not interested in appeasing and will do what is needed, not sign the latest highly ranked fifa 22 player.
Tough love.

Seeing rumors Arsenal considering selling Gabriel.

I would rather sell him to raise funds in other attacking areas, CBs are the least important positions, White, Holding, Saliba and Mavropanos are good enough for the team if we can sign great strikers and wingers.

I hope we don't sacrifice Gabriel that way - we need to keep him AND buy a striker... not dilute what we've built.
Saliba and White are similar players - Gabriel is different.
Whilst Gabriel has had some patches in form this year he is still a top defender and has formed a really good partnership with White - I think partnerships in the CB positions are often more important than individual CBs.
