For top 4? It should be but that's just my opinion. Who else would you want to see come in?

An out and out striker, a strong holding midfielder to rotate/cover Partey when he inevitably gets injured, a quality left back to rotate/replace with the made of glass Tierney.

Agreed. Plus a more modern RB (in Hicky we would have both, RB and LB) as a tactical cover for Tomi. Love Tomi, but tactical options are necessary.

That's just the bare minimum for me, I would push for Aouar as cover too, unless Vieira is playing a deeper role (has has the passing range and the ability to cope with the press in tight spaces).

Vieira
Tielesmans/Ruiz
Jesus
Scamacca
Hicky and/or Molina
Aouar
DM? Torriera if he's forced to stay put.

IMO the summer signings will end up being:

Viera
Tielemans
Jesus
Hickey
Marquinhos
Turner

Of course, another surprise signing isn't out of the realm of possibility

Again i will ask about the mentality. Where are the leaders? Far too many youngsters.

So far seems like 3 are more less confirmed. Marquinhos,Vieira and Tielemans( Sun says conf. in 48hrs). Two are midfielders, and Marq is a winger/ forward.
Getting Two midfielder , is move in right direction. Tielemans is a known quantity, knows PL pretty well and is well rated.
Vieira, though well spoken of, is untested in PL, so fingers crossed., but at least provide cover to the existing cast.
Now , need a striker. See where we end up.
Then comes big task of moving the fringe players. That , I'm afraid will probably be arranged at bargain sale.40-50 mil for 5 players at best.

Jesus, Tielemans are both premier league veterans. Along with guys like Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard, and White, I feel like Arsenal has plenty of experience and leadership in each phase of the game.

David Ornstein

Arsenal defensive priority this window is Lisandro Martinez. Wanted for ability to play LCB / LB + 24yo Argentina international said to be keen. Sources indicate ~€30m bid already rejected by #Ajax but #AFC will keep pushing. That & more @TheAthleticUK

Have we got a striker yet?

Hope we have a back up if Jesus doesn't work out! Eddie hasn't even signed yet

He probably will but it's not done till it's done. We still need at leased one more

It's starting to become clearer how Edu, Arteta et all want the squad to look next season.

Potential 25-man squad for 2022/23:

Goalkeepers

Ramsdale, Turner, Hein (3)

Defenders

White, Saliba, Gabriel, Holding, Martínez, Tomiyasu, Cédric, Tierney, Tavares (9)

Midfielders

Partey, Xhaka, Tielemans, Lokonga, Elneny, Ødegaard, Smith Rowe, Vieira (8)

Forwards

Saka, Raphinha, Martinelli, Jesus, Nketiah (5)

To be fair to them, that looks like a capable squad if they pull it all off. It heavily depends on Arteta's ability to learn how to attack games

It sounds like it's a wrap. The same sources I trust that reported the Vieira deal say this done and just waiting for an announcement.

Doesn't make sense for Eddie to sign a deal whilst knowing we will sign a striker. Unless the plan is to play Jesus the flanks. Still no deal on Saka or Martinelli despite their deals running low.

Thought Martinelli recently sign for 5 years

I doubt Eddie seriously expects to be Arsenal’s principal striker. Unless he’s mentally ill
