I get the optismism going into the new season but that's not realistic.

Also, the Tielemans deal could still go through. We've the most of August left.

I feel like all I do is attack your posts, its nothing personal, but you make it too freekin easy !!

Are you being serious with this post ?? None of those players are a pimple on the bum of the prospects we have had in the past who were only just about able to get game time because we had leaders on the pitch and other top notch players alongside them. You want to put these kids on the pitch alongside other kids and a team without leaders ?????

What's even more hilarious is the assumption that anybody from the academy is going to be getting significant minutes in midfield. Patino got 2 cup outings and then chucked out on loan. Don't think Azeez has even had a competitive match under Arteta.

We've spent the better part of £150m on midfielders alone, because Arteta doesn't trust anybody from the Hale End.

Azeez came on for the last 7 mins in the 4-2 Europa league win in Dundalk in 2020

Starmandb, Highbury Hillbilly did say significant minutes, I think we can all agree 7 mins in an EL match is not significant minutes.

I wonder if we are actually going to land one or two more decent signings, things have gone quiet.

They'll wait until the end of the window. Three reasons:

*If we f up the start of the season like last year they have chance to change things around with signings.

*Fans will always want more, if they make the last signings now the aftv types will be criticising them for no signings on deadline day

*There are more bargains later in the window (Tieleman's asking price might go down, for example)

We still need a striker/winger that can provide backup for GJ or take the Pepe role. And an attack-minded CM.

They don't have a clue. Spinning the same nonsense the past 5 weeks.

"We understand from our sources that Arsenal would like a new winger. Who. Well we don't have a f***ing clue."

We have wingers sitting around. Marquinhos and Pepe. Unless we move Pepe on, how can buy another one? Once you invest 72 mil you're stuck and got to make it work.

Arteta gives zero fucks about the investment the ckub has made thats why he and Edu are losing the club millions. Need I remind you of our pathetic player sales?!!

Marquinhos is another in a long line of unproven youth gambles, not putting my top 4 eggs in that basket.

Pepe started 2 PL games in a period of about 5 months, so let's assume that we aren't going to make it work.

We still need another forward.

Wingers: Saka, Martinelli, Jesus, Pepe, Marquinhos. Even ESR and Nktiah can operate in the wings. Out of these Jesus, Nktiah and Martinelli can play striker. Mobile forwards all. By now we have at least 4 senior wingers , so can work with one prospect, Marquinhos. Got to have some faith in recruiters now who have scouted him.
The current issue is with the midfield. Getting pinned down under pressure, with both Partey and Xhakha not assertive enough. Once Vieira gets up and running, we will have more options in there, especially if Tierney stays fit for a long while, and free up Zinny to be utilized in the midfield. A mobile robust defense, creative and strong midfield and a lethal forward line, that's the goal we need to achieve. Getting there , surely and not too slowly.
