He might if Jorginho and Partey both leave.

If not, he can go out on loan for experience. Rather have an academy player in that spot than spunk £20m on the likes of Lokonga to do the same.

What is his best position?

Image

Could we ease him into the side as cover for Saka and move him into the middle when he's got more experience?
Raya/Ramsdale
White/Timber--Saliba/Tomiyasu--Gabriel/Kiwior--Calafiori/Zinchenko
Partey/Rice/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/???
Saka/Jesus-------------------Martinelli/Trossard
Havertz/???

He's only just turned 17yrs old a week or so ago.
He's almost 2 yrs younger than Saka was when he broke through to get regular PL game time.
He's 2 yrs younger than Mainoo.
I suspect he has at least another year of showing continual progress before we're going to see him as a player who is more than just spending time with the 1st team squad.

Year older than Cesc was when he debuted and Cesc is a World Cup, PL, CL winner. If you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

So because Cesc did it everyone should be playing and be ready on their 17th birthday.
/smh

Don Mikel will know when to bring him through. Patience.

Lol. You’re the one who says Don Mikel will know when to bring him through. So you tell me which teenager has he brought through by your own definition.

Saliba, Saka, ESR, Martinelli.
All teenagers brought through to becoming regular starters under Arteta (ESR being stifled by injury).

That being said, not sure why you are crying about a kid who just turned 17 last week as if he should be playing in a title run in and Champions league last 8.
Sounds like you are just crying for crying's sake.

Please don’t embarrass yourself. All the players you mentioned were already first team players before Arteta arrived. Anyways, it was a rhetorical question. The answer of course being none.

Saka had 6 PL starts mainly as a WB before Arteta
Saliba PL debut given by Arteta
ESR 1 PL start before Arteta
Martinelli 3 PL starts before Arteta

3 of them have been turned into world stars under Arteta.
ESR could still be, but has been hampered by injury.

By 'brought through' you seem to mean debut, which is why I asked you.
That of course means zilch in terms of bringing players through.

In terms of debuts Arteta has already given Nwanieri his debut - at 15yrs old.
Sagoe Jnr has also been given his debut in the first team.
Patino was also given his first team debut.

The only person embarrassing themselves is you - crying like a little girl about a kid who has literally just turned 17 not playing in our first team in a title run in and CL last 8 - all because you want to find something - anything - to whine about.
