If you setup correctly you still don’t get thrashed 5-0.

City haven’t been that great this season so far, Spurs beat them and Southampton drew with them (and should have had a penalty).

The only time I will be behind this clown is when he is sacked and catching a taxi from the club.

Man City 5-0 Arsenal.

:hiding:

Cedric - Chambers - Holding - Kolasinac - Tierney

And that was before Xhaka went full Xhaka.

LMAO - ok, I can accept those mitigating circumstances, but what makes you believe the defence looks good now ? Because we beat Burnley, Norwich and AFC Wimbledon ?!!!!

What more can the defence do but keep 3 clean sheets in a row?
The earlier games were without our 1st team defence.

Norwich - they created more vs Liverpool than us. In fact, they only created less vs Man City in their 5 games so far than they did against us.
Burnley - we kept a clean sheet against them whilst in their other 2 home games this year they scored. Only Liverpool have held them to less chances than we did this season so far.

Ya know, the 5-0 loss would have been digestible if City played like prime Barcelona. But it was like a friendly for them.

Arteta has sacrificed our attacking flair for a solid defense. It's not like we're beating teams comfortably either. I just don't see how you can defend your way to a top-4 finish. It does seem that he's more open to attack now. The unanswered question remains: is he capable of setting-up a potent attack?

Not to sound like a Debbie Downer... Arteta still needs to work on his in-game management. Subs were too late. It was an issue when he first joined. It persists even today.

I don't think he has had an easy start for various reasons, and the club haven't helped with that either. The Ozil situation is a classic example where he could have got a lot more help from above.

I think he amd Edu are getting there in terms of shifting out players who are not suitable for the club for one reason or other, and bringing new players in, and I expected this to be a long process.

But results on the pitch have to improve, and so far the league finishing positions haven't been good enough. For now I don't care how we play. Points on the board are what's important. I want to see by Christmas that we're on track for a better league position or he'll lose the 50%.

First edit.

Up to 60%.

Up to a soft 65%.

If Arteta can get the attack to regularly perform like it did in the first half, then I'll probably be up to a solid 85%. Hopefully the days of being left reliant are over and the team can utilize the middle and the right sides of the field.

He still has to work on his substitutions, though.
