Make a bold prediction (2021/22 edition)

Postby Jedi » Thu Aug 12, 2021 12:31 pm

Haven't seen one posted yet and the season starts tomorrow. Continuation of this thread.

- Auba to finish the PL season with single digit goals.
- White will be branded the English David Luiz after one or two mistakes, but will quietly have a very good season.
- Xhaka to have a better season than Partey, Lokonga and Elneny.
- Arsenal will once again finish no higher than 8th (is this even bold at this point)
- Pepe will be our player of the season

- Each game we win will be down to the players. Arteta will play no part.
- Each game wel lose will be an unmitigated disaster, the blame for which will lie solely with Arteta.
- If Arteta plays this or that player he'll be criticised for not playing other players. If he plays those players he'll be criticised for not playing the original ones.
- If we sign a good player it will be by accident
- If we sign a bad player it will be down to Arteta
- If players that are out on loan perform well it will mean Arteta is a c*** for sending them out on loan
- If players that are out on loan perform poorly it will mean Areta is a c*** for sending them out on loan
- If we have a succeessful season it will be despite Arteta
- If we have a poor season it will be because of Arteta
- People will post the same moaning drivel on a daily basis, ad-nauseum

We will end up 4th or 5th. The new comers will have a smashing debut.
Also deep FA cup run....might be even a V.

ESR will be the league's player of the season.

City will finish outside the top two.

Martinelli will fall out with Arteta.

Arsenal will once again finish no higher than 8th (If the clown is still in charge)
Pepe will be our player of the season.
No joy in any of the competitions sounds very negative but I honestly can't see any changes from last years shite performances. With this negative transfer window, it doesn't inspire much confidence in me at all. Hope I am wrong and we have a brilliant season but I doubt it.

Was going to mention an injury crisis at some point but that feels like cheating now.

Willian to reach 10 appearances faster than Lokonga
No actual signings between now and end of the window, just a loan/loans maybe
Partey to play less than 25 games due to injury
Xhaka to wear the armband before October
No more than 3 players to reach double figures in League goals this season
West Brom to win the carrierbag cup tie

Wolves to go down
Utd to sack Ole after they fail to get out of CL group stage
Liverpool to be the jammiest bastards ever with national period of mourning announced to commemorate Van Dijk's time out last season
Man Utd to remain unpunished for their fans invading the ground and causing fixture cancellation towards the end of last season, with not a single pundit bringing it up
Good old Arsenal, we're proud to say that name
