We are doing better in Champions league because teams are playing relatively more attacking football, hence giving us more space to operate.
In PL, the basic set up against us is a low block followed by counter attacks. Hence there's less space to exploit.
This will be recurring theme throughout the season. So we have to be more creative in opening up teams in PL.
An interesting tussle with CP coming up in this regard.

Most top teams are playing well and winning by big margins at this stage. So there's hardly any separation amongst real challengers and pretenders at this stage.
Once we face the likes of Bayern M and Inter in group stage we'll have a better idea about where we stand. But we're going to qualify for the knockout for sure. There are a few minnows that'll take care of it

we can beat bayern. Kane? mostly scored pens at the emirates. shut him out and we can beat them. they narrowly beat us in QF and we had some key errors in that first leg and didn't show up in the second leg.

Looks like PL is stronger than CL nowadays. Teams that won big mid week struggled in the weekend. Number of them lost and Arsenal huffed and puffed for 3pts.

Always get more space against European opponents

The Newcastle , Palace and Fulham are games we would have drawn / lost last season

Huge to get 9 points

We’ve lost the past two leagues by dropping points in these type of games , normally consecutively.

It almost feels like roles reversed this season. Liverpool slip up and then it quickly turns into a sour run across several games. Meanwhile the direct title rival (us) manages to continue to pick up points and create a gap.

The key now is for us to build on this momentum.

Create the image from the outside that you just can’t see us not winning every game.

That’s the feeling I’ve always had when we’ve been chasing an in-form City or Liverpool. They go on runs you just don’t see where they will drop points.

Going forward one change I would like to see is reverting the the approach we had 2/3 seasons ago where we would just pepper the opposition first 15 minutes. Push super high and just pin them in their half.

High risk but the caveat is even if you concede you still have 75+ minutes.

Much prefer that approach rather than 45 minutes of calculated dross and then a frantic push in the second half.

I know for a fact we can change it because we already did and we looked dangerous as hell in attack. For 2 successive games we changed our approach and looked to get the ball forward quickly.

Thought Burnley did a good job of containing Arsenal with their organization and closing down the passing channels in their half.
They are a limited team but disciplined. Think the are likely to stay up.
Zubimendi's lack of assertiveness deep in our territory hinders smooth transition from defense to offense, hence Rice is forced to track back more often to defend.
Partey in this regard was more forceful and Rice had less defensive workload to handle.

A win mid week qualifies us for CL next round

And then a win next weekend before the international break

Saka , Rice , Gyokores, Gabriel , Saliba , Timber , Calafiori sadly all pick up ‘injuries’ and are forced to miss the international break

In the CL league stage its essential to get top 8 to avoid a two legged play off

No foot off the gas until we get it

We are top in every sense. Liverpool have not bounced back, they have the same issues, they have not gone away!
