Saka is an absolute warrior, sacrificed his body for club and country for years with no reward. Praying for him to recover and come back the same player.

RIP our title challenge. We're at risk of a Top 4 battle if we don't sign a replacement in January.

Ben Dinnery (founder of Premier Injuries) wrote:There are lots of factors to consider when looking at a potential RTP...

The average is around 151 days from the @PremierInjuries database. And even though Saka has age on his side, those players under 25 tend to take a little longer (167).

However, positionally, attacking players generally recover the quickest, 135 days.

Just under half, 44%, of all players will return within four months, but only five have managed a comeback in less than 90 days.

So, all being well, realistically, we could be looking at a date in April...

Yea that would be Par for the course for Arteta.
" we need to not rush Nwaneri, he needs protection"

To now I'm going to start Nwaneri out of possition sink or swim for the little f***er it's his job or mine

the we use him and you lot bitch that we use him too much...

You live in hypothetical world. Try the real world. Professional footballer only got 13 mins of league football last season, fans were rightly up in arms. The same professional footballer has only managed 108 mins of league football this season when his direct replacement was out injured for half the elapsed season.

So yes normal fans are concerned that a clearly talented footballer is not getting enough minutes, as is the case with Arteta, overlooking players that should be getting more game time.

Are you incapable of not acting like a f***ing tool when you post comments?!

I don't think we will see him again this season. Read somewhere Arteta mentioned April, but that Martinelli might be back before. Seeing as Martinelli didn't tear a hamstring off the bone, that's a little bit worrying. I'm concerned we will miss top 4, but if by April we are more or less qualified for next year, and considering the season will be over by then in terms of anything tangible, give Saka the summer off. Tell England to go and self fornicate as well.

Even though the club has been making an effort to keep it from the public, Saka's been back in training for about a week or so.

He should only play this season if we reach the CL final. and only then on the bench should it come to pens or something, or we need a piece of magic in the latter 90 mins or ET. If not, then he shouldn't play this season. it's a major injury, and he's been overplayed. The same should apply with England. Tuchel should rest him until next season, and maybe not even poay him fully in the qualifiers since we should qualify anyhow.

Arsenal set to open new contract talks with Saka

Sami Mokbel
Senior football correspondent

Arsenal are set to open formal talks with Bukayo Saka over a new contract as the forward enters the final two years of his current deal.

Saka has been unavailable since December after sustaining a serious hamstring tear in the victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park - an injury that eventually required surgery.

But his importance to Mikel Arteta's team remains unquestioned with the club preparing to meet the player's representatives over a contract extension.

Arsenal want to avoid any uncertainty regarding their star player's future and will make securing Saka to a longer contract one of their top priorities.

The 23-year-old England international signed his current contract - understood to be worth a minimum of £10m per season - in 2022.

But that contract is due to expire at the end of the 2026-27 season with early moves towards opening concrete talks already initiated. The process is expected to accelerate in the not too distant future.

Clubs across Europe will be intrigued to see how discussions develop, with Saka widely recognised as one of the top attacking talents in European football.

Before signing his existing deal, Saka was a subject of interest for Manchester City and there will be no shortage of suitors again if club talks do not go smoothly.

But Arsenal will be hopeful that an agreement can be reached given their emergence as title challengers under Arteta, while their continued participation in the Champions League may also be a factor in persuading Saka to re-sign.

For now, Saka is focusing on his long-awaited return to fitness after his hamstring operation.

Following Sunday's win over Chelsea, manager Arteta said Saka had a good chance of returning soon after the current international break.

Arsenal's next game is against Fulham at Emirates Stadium on 1 April.

Saka isn't the only Arsenal player entering the final two years, or less, of their current deals.

Midfielders Thomas Partey and Jorginho are both out of contract at the end of the season and will leave the Emirates this summer as things stand.

Leandro Trossard, who has held talks over a new deal, is out of contract in the summer of 2026.

Crucially, Saka, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes - who are all key players for Arteta - will see their deals expire in 2027.

On his contractual situation Saliba said earlier this month that formal talks over a new deal were yet to start, but added: "For me, I'm really happy here. I'm happy here and I want to continue here."

Magalhaes has also held talks over an extension. The Brazil international is believed to have interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

If so, so be it.

Then again, we as fans dont' know the extent of his injury. But then we know it was bad and that club medical staff can be incompetent and f**k things. tha't just just at Arsenal, but all clubs.

All f***ing weird. And this manager has to pray that we beat Real Madrid and there isn't a recurrence. Or that it somehow goes to pens and Saka scores one of the winning pens.
